I run Ventura based Mac M1. Worried it would not run but it did. Old MacOS don't work according to blogs. Need to plug in (firmly) to USB-C port. Could not get USB-A port on dongle to work. MUST REBOOT after plugging in.
One description somewhere says IS Mac compatible. Another does not reference Mac. I took a flier and it worked.
Only hint on instructions is in the Walmart page showing the unit. There are 4 or 5 panes of info and one of them shows a Mac screen on "What's on USB?" Once unit is recognized by Mac OS, simply plug in a disk and you can copy contents to your hard drive.
30 years ago I wrote a program before retirement. And saved it. Probably based on Solaris Sun computer so was worried about file formats. File extensions don't map to Mac extensions nicely, so just use TextEdit. Well, that's for source files.
Astonished I could retrieve the files.
