Varathane Weathered Wood Accelerator-313835, Quart

Pro - A water based product that ages wood to a gray-blueish transparent tint. The color depth-outcome depends much on the species of wood. Con - depending on wood, could be blotchy. I use it as a first base coat of stain followed by two other oil colored stains, spray clear lacquer to get a rich effect and finish that i want. The whole process is very much experimental, but I get a great look. You can probably just use the product and clear coat to get a rustic aged look.

This is my go to stain when I stain something. I love the deep tone color.

This stuff is amazing, I used it on a new picnic table after I let it season under cover. The wood drank it in. I thought two coates are better than one so I applied a second and it rejected it. The second coat just beaded up on the surface so good was the seal after one coat. It's been two months; rain water won't touch it. I'm very satisfied.

Works really well. Wasn't sure it would come out right but it's definitely a good, aged look!

Beautiful product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The VARA weather would accelerator in Gray, is perfect, especially for crafts. You will notice the first coat is very light but, after you add a couple of coats you can really see the gray starting to show. It weathers as if you can see it happening. Use it on bare wood. Clean up is super easy. I would definitely recommend this product.
