Vaughan 22 oz Standard Half Hatchet

Great hatchet with heavy, solid blade. Opposite end provides an equally solid hammer. Turn it sideways and use the notch to pry up bent nail heads for repeat bashing. I use it to whack down unwanted cypress knees... and while I'm at it, to touch up popped nails along the fence line. Price, quality, shipping, etc. all good.

Ergonomically shaped solid handle. The blade is heavy and sharp. Perfect for kindling, pruning small branches and camping. I like the back of the blade- shaped like a hammer. Countless possibilities.

Very solid hatchet. Is much more solid than the old one that I am replacing which the head fell off of. This one has 2 wedges holding the head on, which is 2 more than my other one had. The handle is also a very good size and very solid wood.

This is a nice little hatchet for the money. I've used it primarily when camping to pound tent stakes, chop kindling, and clear small branches and brush. It seems to be of good quality materials and feels very solid in the hand during use. I have several other hatchets but this one may be my all-around favorite. It is also nice to know it's made in the USA too! Good job Vaughn.

I've been carrying this thing around with me all over the compound and house. It has endless uses. Handle is attached with two metal wedges. Fits perfectly in my medium sized hands. You'll need to file off the clear coat from the bit and hammer poll. I love it's versatility and it looks good. Made in USA.

Very handy item for camping

I read a lot of reviews regarding different hatchets, and nearly all complained about sharpness. This tool was no different, but I cam prepared. I had my metal file at the ready before I even tried it (I could see right away that this thing would cut a sapling. So, file away I did as soon as it arrived. If youre willing to do that, its a pretty fair tool, especially for the price. And the hammer feature works well.
