LOVE this device! I'm an animal lover who hates to kill anything but the mice were overrunning my chicken coop. Got 8 mice the first night then 7 the second night. Since then it has dwindled. The mice are clean and neatly stacked on top of one another. I either feed them to my cats or put them in the field and watch the hawks or owls eat them. Also worked in my garden shed where I store my bird seed. We put a dab of peanut butter as bait. I know that the mice like to run along the baseboard so my husband placed it right there where we know they run. It is not messy and seems like the most humane means possible. Anyway, I could not use a conventional trap or poison in my chicken coop. WORTH EVERY PENNY!
We have been very happy with this product. We have only had it for about 1 week and have caught a minimum of 1 a day. This far exceeds the old spring traps in ease of use, cleanliness, and removal of captured vermin. Despite the cost I would absolutely purchase this again. To those who have not had success with this product, return it and try a replacement. It just plain works!
First mouse couldn't get to bait up the steps so it chewed a hole through the side of the machine to get the bait. It did get inside and was killed but I am worried that the next mouse might chew thru the wiring disabling the unit for good. Any ideas on what I should do about the hole in the unit?
Worked fantastic until we replaced the batteries. Then the trap was constantly charging and would run the batteries out in 2 days. Not to mention mice will not go near a trap that is always buzzing!! So far woodstream is working with us to make it better, but definitely keep your purchase order!
Only came with one tap and it doesn't even turn on
We have several mice in our storage shed and they are slowly tearing up the yard around it, so I bought this thinking it's a multi-kill option and we need that because there has to be several around. We loaded it up and placed it in the shed right where I saw one scurry by and it's been there over two weeks now with not one catch. I gave up and bought some old school mice traps yesterday and we're going to load them up and place them tonight. If they catch one before this machine does I want my money back, it was the worst investment ever.
I have followed every recommendation (gloves, bait, changed location) and still have yet to catch even one mouse. I had one that apparently escaped through the doggie door and chewed a hole in the screen; but, certainly wasn't interested in my trap. Sorry I wasted my money.
Have used for 3 weeks. Two catch indications, no catches. Now have low battery indication. Using in a machine shed. I suspect poor battery performance at low temperatures. States "for indoor use only". My machine shed in "indoors" and not exposed to outdoor elements. At the end of the Instruction Manual, in the CAUTION box, it states "not suitable for barns, stables and similar locations". This should be stated up front and stop wasting a customers time.
Great when it worked but After 1 year and 4 months. About 15-20 mice it caught This thing stopped working. Electronics simply failed and I didn't do anything out of its limits. Even if that was the case. 70 dollars should get you something sturdy past 15 uses. Seems like a waste of electronics
