This drone is so much fun! I gave it to my nephew as a birthday gift and he was so excited to use it. He has a motocross track in his backyard and his brother uses it for filming him on the track. I got to play around with it for a while and I am a terrible drone pilot. This drone makes a perfect gift for a techy teen that has everything.
Setup instructions were very clear and my kids did that end to end. Quality is also good. Did not break anything even though it fell off while we trying to fly it. Camera comes along with it. Its a tiny socket to attach it with the drone. I used tweezers for that. After downloading the app you can capture good quality videos.
If you're looking for a reliable, user-friendly, and fun drone, the Vivitar VTI Skytracker is an excellent choice! The one-button take-off and landing feature makes it incredibly easy to fly, even if you're a beginner. The “follow me” technology is a game-changer, ensuring you can capture amazing footage without constantly adjusting the controls. The 16-minute flight time is decent, allowing you to explore up to the impressive 1000-foot range before it automatically returns home, which gives a great sense of security. I also love the different speed modes; they add an exciting challenge and make each flight session unique. The GPS functionality is accurate and gives peace of mind, knowing it will return safely if you lose sight of it. The black and yellow design looks sleek, and the size feels just right – not too bulky but sturdy enough to handle outdoor flights. Overall, the Vivitar VTI Skytracker is a great hobby drone, offering everything you need for fun and quality aerial shots at a very reasonable price! Highly recommended!
My first impression when opening the box: Nicely packaged, all pieces and instructions were there and looked as expected (bright yellow color). The drone is lightweight, feels sturdy and made of great quality for the price point. For this being my first drone, the directions were easy to follow. We had no issues setting it up and getting it going. It did take me a moment to get the hang of controlling it but once I did, it was fun to fly it around my backyard. Was also quite handy to fly it on top of my house to take a look at all my gutters; saved me the trouble of climbing onto the roof. We plan on selling our house soon so I look forward to using this drone to take an aerial view video of our house and property.
This drone kept 1 granddaughter %26 3 ADULTS busy for hours on Christmas morning/day! Easy to set up, precision flying in house! Can't wait for rain to stop so it can be flown outside! This baby is headed ALL OVER THE WORLD with my granddaughter. She's already been to 9 foreign countries from Cubs to Rome %26 France last summer. BEST PRESENT YET!
easy to use and operate. wish it had extra guards in kit. they break easy.
Great GPS drone. I recommend buying the tiny little 1080p cube car dash cam at Walmart to go with it under $20. Strap it on with a tie rap and rubberband so you can record to SD for a much better video. Streaming video to your phone is terrible from any drone cam, but helpful to see where you are while your flying, especially at altitude. As long as you calibrate the compass and the gyro each time and wait for a good GPS signal, this drone will stay on course. I've had it up to 400 feet high (FAA max for drones) numerous times and got some great vids with the dash cam. Go straight up and stay there and spin. Then come staight back down. Don't let the battery get below 16% or it might fly off trying to get back home. The wireless distance to your phone is much less than the controller to the drone. Don't panic if you lose the streaming video. Just pull down on the stick and the drone will come back down even if the phone disconnects. The "circle point of interest" works fine, but I can't get the "follow me" to work at all. I can't get anything to show up on the map, but I can set waypoints and the drone does follow them. I fly from my deck and the fly home button works, but overshoots sometimes and flys into the house or shrubs so I manually fly it home. This drone responds well but has a terrible camera. Too bad. It still beats paying $600 for a DJI. They can fly 3 or 4 miles away, but FAA states you have to keep it in line of site anyway, so 1000 meters (3280 feet (over half a mile)) is plenty.
For $70 its pretty nice! Calibration is critical. Vivitar on UTube shows you how. Spare batteries are essential. Camera a little cheap but for the $$$ I'm surprised it works at all. Camera only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. lots of features!
I've purchased this drone multiple times so what little time i did fly the drone I enjoyed the flying, the range it offered, and other capabilities it had. It fell short however on its poor durability, leading it to have no longevity and a very short life span. The solution ( or a work around) I came up with was to just buy the extended warranty that included normal wear and tear. This worked marginally, but not every time, and later proved to be more hassle and cost than it was worth. Bottom line: walk away from this one. Buy a DJi while you still can.
no manual.. wouldn't hook up to app AND WAS USED.. I didn't see that in the ad when I ordered it or I would not have ordered a used product.. fortunately the manufacturer sent an upgraded replacement
