This steam canner works as well as any water-bath canner, but uses a lot less water, and takes less time to come to a boil. It is also much lighter than the water-bath, which is helpful in moving or emptying the canner.

For making jams or Canning fruit you can't beat this steam canner. It's twice as fast as the water bath Canner. And certainly not as heavy to empty at the end of the day.

ordered one of these.....it arrived without the temperature control knob. we returned it for a refund. ordered another one.....it also arrived without the temperature control knob. just beware may arrive with missing parts

Item is NOT as shown. I specifically ordered this one for the easy temperature indicator with the altitude zones and the green zone indicating canner is ready to begin processing. This one has the basic gray and white indicator with only alpha characters that require you to refer to a chart to understand. Really annoyed by the false advertising!

My item just arrived. I opened the box and the item is clearly used. scuff marks all along bottom of pan and a very visible ring where the temp knob would go. Whats up with selling items as brand new when they're used?! $58. is a lot. Immediately filed a return. Item seemed chintzy too.
