So far, this nail trimmer is great. For $30 we were able to easily trim our Standard Dachshund's nails while he napped. He usually pulls, nibbles, and frets. For the first time in years he was comfortable and relaxed without being coaxed. The weight of the batteries in the handle offsets the balance a hair, making it easy to trim slowly and with a steady hand. The high setting was too much for our small dog but I can see it being useful too. Great nail file for the cost!

What a wonderful product! It is powerful and cordless making it easy to use and easy to introduce the dog to. With the grinder when you start to get close to the quick, the dog pulls away real fast. With the clippers, they wiggle and boom you hit the quick! Also know that this is very powerful for running on batteries! They make a rechargeable one, but I was unable to find it.

I was afraid my dog wouldn't like the vibration or be afraid of the sound. She is old and has started staying inside. We tried clipping. That was a NO! This tool is no problem. I was so amazed. She is a larger dog and her nails are thick. She doesn't even move when I cut the nail trimmer on. She will let me put her nails right in the slot. This trimmer does make a dust as it files the nails so I personally do not use it on my dog indoors.

I love this nail grinder for my 65 lb and 85 lb dogs! It's quiet enough that it doesn't scare them, and the two speed options give me control depending on how tough their nails are. The rounded tip really smooths everything out, so no sharp edges after trimming. Super easy to use, comfortable to hold, and works way better than clippers. Definitely makes nail care at home so much easier!

I bought this for my small dogs because of the special bit / file. The high speed grinded my large gsp's nails down way to fast. I barely hit the nail and it was gone. So I use the first speed. For my small dogs it feels to big and just to rough on nails. But I am no professional. The handle is kind of large for my hands, I had a hard time pushing switch from 1st to 2nd speed.

This was quite a bit louder than I was expecting it to be, and my dogs definitely let me know how they feel about that. But it does work. It's easy to operate, I like the different holes to use for the nails to get filed, but protect the dog's paws from getting hurt or the nail from getting too short. We've found it works best for us to trim their nails with clippers, then use this to soften the sharp edges. Once our dogs have a good length and are comfortable with this, it will likely be good enough.

it various ends are hard to change..thevpladtic shield thing is just a nuiasance and the rounder grinder didnt seem effective at all..very disappointed. my noisy old tool worked better but soooo loud. this was a reasonable volume

It's okay. Old technology. Batteries really? I should have sent it back since it's Not rechargeable. A little louder than it should be for a pet. My dog is hesitant with her paw now and wasn't before I used this on her nails. Very disappointed

i have small dogs an to cut their nails it shouldnt take much but it didnt quite work on them as it broke on our 3rd use, i have 3 dogs, so the first use technically.

1st time using it, the item started getting too hot to handle within a couple of minutes. When I tried to switch it off, the grinder would not turn off. I switched the switch back and forth several times thinking it had just gotten stuck and might release. It kept going even on the off position. I finally had to remove the batteries to get it to shut off.
