Works as advertised

Mark April 7, 2025

Use this to clear heavy weeds on my lot that is covered with debris after flooding since it wouldn't be practical to get a mower through it. Faster than a string trimmer and less hassle. Requires no fuel and silent, so can be used at any hour without disturbing neighbors. Product itself is well made, heavy duty enough for thick brush and easier to control than a Y-shaped one. Some of the other reviews cite it not being sharp enough out of the box, but this type of blade is self-sharpening, it becomes sharper with use so needs to be broken in. However I found it to work well regardless, and as good or better than any other grass whip I have used (have experience with them.) I cannot testify how it works on short grass since I only use it for brush but I would expect it to function like any grass whip for that. They do require a certain level of skill and strength to use effectively, but this one makes it easy being lightweight, easy to control and rugged. Would not hesitate to recommend it or buy another for my own use.

Good tool need better directions.

I like this. It came with LocTite but no instructions on where to put it. Turns out to be needed on the handle as well as the blade nuts. Good but not great.

Skanundra October 6, 2025

I recently decided that life is too short to keep replacing rechargeable batteries for yard tools. I have an old sling blade I haven't used in years that, if the blade were sharpened, it would work fine for me to trim the "weedy" areas of my yard. Wanted to try the whip because it's much lighter than my sling blade and thought it might go easier on my old arthritic riddled body :-) But because of the angle of the blade on the whip it was very awkward for me to use. The sling blade works much easier FOR ME. So I won't recommend (or not) because it may work perfectly for someone else. The whip is quick %26 easy to assemble, tools for assembly come with it, and it's sturdily built. But I'm going to return it %26 take my sling blade to Ace Hardware to sharpen the blade. I appreciate the chance to try it because now I know.

My fault. It didn't work out the way I thought it would.

I wouldn't buy it again

Dee October 14, 2024

Not intuitively easy to assemble, and once assembled, it doesn't seem to do much but tickle the grass as it goes through. If the assembly instructions didn't include gluing bits together, I would have returned it.

Disappointed

anonymous July 8, 2025

Parts were missing so was unable to assemble. Totally useless if you can't put it together. A refund would be nice.

Wish it worked for me

Lisa October 9, 2025

This did not work at all for me. Rather than cutting the overgrowth, it just flattened everything down and I still had to rip everything out.

didn't work

anonymous July 25, 2025

It didn't cut a single weed or blade of grass.
