Much Needed Upgrade

Jake April 2, 2026

I came from a dated spinning disk drive that was solely being used for game storage. The months leading up to buying this, I realized I would significantly benefit from upgrading to an SSD for loading performance. Needless to say, it was been in every way. It's not just that I can load into games faster, but also reducing things like pop-in and load textures faster. My only regret is that I didn't do this a long time ago. Highly recommend!

Needs Firmware Update, But Works Solid!

Timothy August 19, 2025

While this needed a factory firmware update via the Sandisk Dashboard Software to get it to work properly in Windows 11, this drive has been solid for the price! I got it before the tariffs kicked in %26 was on sale. Needless to say, it was a very good purchase! :D

Buy the BLACK, avoid the BLUE!

anonymous August 23, 2025

I purchased this to replace a dead WD Blue M.2 drive. Do NOT purchase the Western Digital Blue series of NVME/M.2 solid state drives. They often either do not work out the box (like mine), or fail within a year. Just check the reviews. Unlike its WD Blue cousin, the WD Black hard drive was detected immediately after installation. Compared to the 8 year old Samsung 250GB SSD it was replacing, this 1TB drive has me zoomin'. A fantastic upgrade that was well worth the price.

Kerron June 20, 2025

These worked with my QNAP. It wasnt too hard to use. the NVme items in tme NAS worked. I do have knowledge of how to install these types of things already. These came pre-opened and were not indicated of that on the listing, which i was disappointed in.

Very decent NVME if you can get it for below MSRP

Christopher March 22, 2025

Very decent NVME when available at a discount. Do not buy these at MSRP, you can do better. Predictable performance, and speeds are as advertised. In terms of installation, things are fairly standard but with a caveat. If you plan to add a heatsink, be aware that the chip surface is highly uneven. This necessitates that you either choose a heatsink with a thick thermal pad included, use thermal putty, or provide your own thermal pad to fill in the low spot where the controller sits. This model is single sided, chips on one side only.

Fast/Clean Access and Storage

JPL December 22, 2025

After installing the SSD in my new enclosure, everything worked seamlessly. There were no delays or interruptions; only fast and clean read/write speeds, and smooth file transfers. I opted for a specialized enclosure designed to maximize the SSD's performance, effectively preventing any heat throttling. It's ideal for accessing music, movies, documents, and minor games.

DOES NOT WORK FOR SBC Raspberry Pi, but was able to swap it in my PC and take the NVMe from that and install it in my PI. Google ‘Raspberry pi WD SN770' or check this link https://forums.pimoroni.com/t/pi5-nvme-base-wd-drive-compatability/23863

Destroyed my computer

Dillyo October 18, 2025

Troubleshooting for weeks to figure out what was causing cpu kernel error event id 41. swapped out everything else and it turned out to be the SSD! All tests show the drive is fine but every time I use it, the computer crashes.

defective garbage didn't last a week

Dom September 24, 2025

Drive died almost immediately after installation...the samsung evo 990pro next to it is fine and older... Don't waste your money on this, spend 10$ more and get a much more robust drive, and faster too
