Weber Rapidfire Compact Chimney Starter

I got this a month or so ago. My wife and I are empty-nesters, so I have a smaller grill, but I use it a lot. I have cast iron grates, and they require a little more maintenance. With this chimney, I can get the coals going while at the same time cleaning and oiling the grill grates. Then just pour in the coals and I'm set. It's perfect size for my grill, and heats the coals faster than in the grill. Also great for adding coals for long-cooking things like whole chickens or ribs.

This product is absolutely necessary thing to ignore charcoal.

My dissatisfaction is due to the poor communication on the fees incurred for orders under 35 dollars. I had this item in my hand, if it had been clearly communicated that there would be additional fees due to my order being under a minimum dollar amount. I would have known to just grab it right in the store because that would have been the cheaper route, but this was not communi c ated effectively during the order process.

works but very small, works fine with the new "Go-Anywhere Grill" grill but does not fill with charcoal i think by design, i needed 100% of the cooking surface on the portable grill but this really only gives you enough for 50-60% cooking surface. the indirect side does not get hot at all on the "Go-Anywhere Grill" so you have to go 100% direct (my experience) it does fit inside the "Go-Anywhere Grill" if that counts and it is convenient but unfortunately not terribly functional. you could go with 2 and that would give the capacity you need and it probably would still fit. weber should make a new kind of squareish chimney that is designed to fill the "Go-Anywhere Grill" for 100% direct heat and fit inside it, this does not really do the trick had to revert to a partial load on my regular one

Item works, but the edges are left extremely sharp. This is disappointing as I didn't expect to have to spend my time finishing the work on the product.

The issue I have with this charcoal chimney starter is that it's small. It barely holds enough charcoal for a small grill. Also the handle does get warm even with the protective material surrounding it. All in all though it does what it is supposed to so I can't complain. If you want a larger batch of lit coals, consider a larger chimney.

didn't holdtoo many coal and the coal went out really fast. probably about 15 min of hot coals than they were gone had to redo again. if you want at least 30 min of cooking suggest a bigger chimney

Well built chimney but only half the size of what we were used to using. It was pulled a little green.

As can be seen from the picture of the item on the Walmart shopping page, this should be a Weber brand Rapid Fire Compact Chimney Started. What I received is a knock-off Walmart brand called “Expert Grill”. It is bad enough that I did not get what I ordered, which is also what is clearly pictured on Walmart's website, but the Expert Grill Walmart Brand does not have the same internal construction as the Weber brands - in other words it doesn't work as well. Additionally, when I went to the local Walmart to see if they had the Weber one that I wanted, I saw the Expert Grill model in the store on sale for $9.97. This really irritates me. Not only did they send me the wrong item, but they didn't even give me the cheaper price. They sold me the Weber Chimney, supposedly on sale for $12.97, but then sent me the wrong Expert Grill Chimney for $3.00 more than what they are selling for in the store. This really upsets me as this is not the first time that Walmart online shopping seems to randomly substitute whatever they feel like without regard to what the customer orders.

This is very small, too small to use unless you have multiple and even then may not work. I didn't realize they came in different sizes. Wouldn't recommend. I bought as a gift because I think everyone should have one but had to return
