WEN RV-Ready 4000-Watt Open Frame Inverter Generator (GN400i)

This generator is really working well for me. Under light loads it doesn't burn much more fuel than the 2.000 watt units. Yet you have the extra power when you need it. Nice. Also I really like the open frame construction. Think easy maintenance. If you are putting a lot of hours on a generator, who wants to be constantly taking screws out to remove cowling? Nice price versus performance. It was an easy choice for me.

Does very well and a bit more quieter than I anticipated. I ended up getting one for a nieghbor. This works well with UPS devices as expected from an inverter generator. If your at half load or more you will a lot of fuel. At 25 percent I had it last all night. Five stars

Great purchase for the price!!! Wen is a a good generator brand maybe a little less known but it's quiet and easy to start. Hooked it up to the camper straight away and it worked perfectly!! Not to heavy to pic around. All around great generator without breaking the bank!!!

We put oil and gas in it and pulled it to start and it started right up and worked as it was suppose to. We used it with our 40' fifth wheel and it was great!! I would definitely buy another one of these if the time comes when I need a new one!! Well worth the money and I didn't have to pay an arm and a leg!!

An incredible piece of equipment at a Walmart price. Only problem was that they had to ship it by FedEx from 2500 miles away. Unpacked it, followed the directions and it started right up. The WEN brand has been around for many years and this one was made in Vietnam, not China. As an open frame inverter it makes a bit more noise that other inverters, but gets FANTASTIC fuel economy. Lots of power for emergency backup at my house. Tested it in eco mode (no more than 70%) and it started up my air compressor and ran it fine. WEN and Walmart are great together!

I have been very happy with this. My first generator. Wanted one around the house for an emergency just in case. Starts easy and works as expected. The build quality is way better than expected. I would like to add that some people think if its an inverter generator, its quiet. This is an open frame inverter generator. Cost much less than an enclosed inverter generator. The trade off is its louder. A generator being in an enclosed frame is what makes it quiet. Not because its an inverter. You buy an inverter generator because you want a generator that protects sensitive electronics. You buy an enclosed frame inverter because you want to protect sensitive electronics AND be quiet. Again this is the louder open frame type.

I live in an older neighborhood with large trees and I typically lose power a few times per year. I only need something that can run my gas furnace, refrigerator, a few lights, TV and charge phones. I tested it and this generator runs everything at the same time without a hitch. I don't want a generator that can power my whole house which would use much more fuel. I did purchase a Voltec 04-00215 adaptor to make use of the RV plug for connecting extension cords to. I am impressed by the build quality of this generator. You do need to add oil before first use, not included. You must remove two metal brackets on the generator before using. If you don't remove them, the engine is locked to the frame and the generator might vibrate and move around. Follow the included instructions. It started on it's first pull outside in cold weather!

The generator arrived quickly, box was in great condition. The packaging of the generator itself was way above what I expected. Easy to follow instructions for start-up and maintenance. Quality craftsmanship. Easy to start and is even quieter than I hoped it would be. definitely a great product plan on buying another one for parallel hookup

This inverter runs fine so far. Only has 2 hours run time. However……it is terribly loud. Even on eco mode. Regular mode registers over 74 dbls…..eco mode is 70.2 dbls. Louder than my powermate which is not inverter. Powermate 4250 watt registers 70.6 . If u think it will be quiet because it is an inverter look elsewhere. I am very disappointed with it. Neighbors won't like it either.
