Westcott Multi Purpose Guillotine Trimmer, Stainless Steel, 12", Black, 1-Count

I bought this to replace my Swingline guillotine paper cutter, and I'm glad that I did. This one is amazing at cutting laminated paper, and sheet protectors. My expensive guillotine paper cutter can slice through a stack of paper, but it struggles to cleanly cut thin plastic, like laminated paper, and sheet protectors. Apparently lower end guillotine paper cutters have more aggressively angled blades, which are perfect for cutting thin plastic material, but not perfect for cutting through a half inch thick stack of paper. It's important to use the right tool for the right job.

This cutter is lightweight, yet easily cuts paper. I used it right out of the box, with no problems.

Works great. The guard is removable, and the arm can be locked down. Works just as well as any other paper cutter I've ever used and the blade has stayed sharp.

This is an amazing paper cutter, it's sharp and the handle has a lock for when it's not in use. However, the all black design makes it really hard to use. It is very difficult to read the numbers and rule marks at a glance so it really slows things down. I had to use a paint pen on the numbers and rule marks so I could see them. It looks cool, but it looses some of it's easy functionality in it's monotone state.

I love this trimmer. I use it all day at work in my classroom. It's light and easy to get out and put away all day whenever it's needed. It easily cuts 5-6 sheets of copy paper at a time. Only drawback numbers are not highlighted with paint. I marked the usual inches where I cut often with a silver sharpie. Otherwise this paper trimmer is awesome. Can't imagine my day without it. I've used it excessively for a few years now and it's still quite sharp.

It doesn't work every well….

I purchased to cut paper and I assumed it would work and can't return because I tossed the packaging. The blade cuts half of the paper and then just folds the rest. the cut part is not even straight because it appears the blade is slightly bent. Cannot get a decent cut at all. Very disappointed.

I bought this cutter for an art project and it originally had great reviews. The box looked like it had been opened and taped. It didn't cut the decoupage paper only the card stock. It tore my paper and ended up cutting everything with scissors.
