Wise 8WD139LS-017 Cushioned Fold-Down, Molded Fishing Seat, Grey / Red

I bought two of these seats for my 14' Porta-Bote with clamp mounts and the seats are great. I had read multiple reviews before that said the cushions fall off. So far the cushions stay on just fine, they have snap on fasteners which work fine in holding the cushions on. The seat backs fold down and have a snap on fastner strap to hold it closed, also seems to work just fine. I have had the seats about 60 days now and have used them out on the boat about 5 times. I was very comfortable in my new seats and I would definitely recomend them.

They were a lot nicer then some I saw for twice the price . Used in my 12' bass boat. Mounted on removeable swivel mounts from attwood . I was looking for a functional, easy to attach and store seat for my small boat. I chose this seat because it was plastic and would not rust if left out in wet conditions. The seat has really helped my bad back! It opens and closes easily and has a convenient snap-strap for carrying. My only wish is that the back of the seat was a little higher. A higher back would make the seat super comfortable and a five star purchase. Still, I'm happy with the seat.

The plastic seat structure itself is well built, though to keep the plastic mount from cracking when you lean back on it, you want to run mounting screws straight down through the mounting holes. These holes are one sided from the bottom, so I drilled them through to the top. This makes for a much more solid mount. The lower cushion has a poorly designed mounting system and was only attached at two points. Without modification, this is the products 2nd weak point. I went to the hardware store and purchased some plastic bolts, detached part of the cushion material from its base piece of plastic, added the bolts and put everything back together. Over about 6 months of use, the hinge pins are going to begin sliding out and will need to replaced by traditional bolts. It is a very solid system now after my modifications and should last about 4 years in my kayak as the original seat did. If you are not handy doing the modifications, probably should shop around for alternates.
