I followed the directions on the package and took one tablet any time from 10 to 60 minutes before eating or drinking. For me, 60 minutes before eating worked really well for me. It's important to swallow with a glass of water and not to chew the tablet. The tablets are very small and easy to swallow. Zantac works by preventing heartburn from happening. I can now eat again the foods and beverages that are my favorites. I was always bothered by foods and beverages that contained tomatoes, tomato sauce and tomato juice. I now enjoy spaghetti, chili, lasagna, pizza, etc. Zantac really works for me!
