Zippo ZO30072 Emergency Fire Kit

I received this emergency lighting kit through the Spark Reviewer program and I am glad I did. What a good idea. It seemed kind of silly When I first received it, but I changed my mind once I used it. It contains 5 white disks filled with a jell fuel that doesn’t rub off on your hands and doesn’t smell. Insert the end of a stick through the center of the disk, loosen the material of the disk slightly to allow Airflow, and use the flint to stike a fire. We then tried to blow out the fire. We were able to eventually blow it out, but it was difficult. I believe this will work great at all those times it was too windy to to start a fire to cook out without it.

I have been acquiring various items for an emergency evacuation kit for the last couple of years mostly due to the likelihood of hurricanes where I live and, lets face it, the potential breakdown of infrastructure. This fits the bill perfectly! The Zippo Emergency Fire Kit is compact, wind resistant, water proof (it even floats) is easy to ignite and fits in your pocket. Zippo lighters have been around for years and this is as reliable as they have been. You can also buy replacement wax coated starters which is a very good idea. All in all I am very pleased to add this to my kit.

Cool design. There are better fire starters out there but this is still handy to have. Bigger than other fire starters on the market but this still has a place in a kit. Most people will use this wrong. Directions not clear. The arrow is the direction the sparks should fly NOT the direction you turn the flint/thumb wheel. It will spark both ways but when used correctly produces more sparks more accurately. I got this for under 8 bucks and is well worth it. Happy with purchase.

This is a must for campers and emergency kit. If you his waterproof lighter uses a flint wheel causing a spark to light an enclosed tinder. This lighter is for outdoor use only. If wanting to light a cigarette, use a cigarette lighter. The tinder, when running low can be bought separately, so there is no need to purchase the kit. For easy access a lanyard hole is in place, which can be used to place the kit around a backpack. For those who keep emergency kits, this is a must to add to the contents.

I do a lot of camping and backpacking and usually have no problem starting a fire. But there have been times where is can be tricky with bad weather. This little device is a life saver. I was deep in the woods and my matches got wet.Thankfully, I had my Zippo fire kit clipped to my backpack. I pulled out the little tinder roll included in the kit, placed it on a stick and flicked the flint wheel, and it started immediately. The cotton tinder roll lasted several minutes, just long enough to make a nice fire. My hiking friends were very impressed and now carry it with them whenever in the woods.

This fire kit is just the ticket, small enough you could carry in your pocket. It will float in water, if you are camping and accidently drop it. Living in the country it is a blessing to have something you can rely on when the power goes of. You can light lamps or candles. You can even use it to light your camp fires or grills. It is a handy little kit to have on hand.

This Zippo fire kit is so compact you can carry it anywhere. It will even fit in your pocket. It is water and wind resistant and it even floats. I personally do not go camping, but I do go boating and this kit will be in my tackle box. It has a loop on the lid so you can even just hang it on a hook in a handy spot. There is no need for butane or lighter fluid so there is no possibility of anything to leak!! This is not a item for children so keep in a safe place. It includes 6 separate specially treated disks that will ignite when you use the wick to make a spark. I recommend this product but use with caution.

Here is a very unique approach to starting a fire in an unexpected situation and having everything in your pocket. Unlike a zippo lighter, which has probably been used for untold years to start campfires and the like, this needs no fuel, which could evaporate between uses. Tiny little rolls are tucked away inside a waterproof cylinder and all that is necessary is a stick to hold them on. One other roll, slightly opened to allow for air is on the very end. Flip, just like a lighter and instantly the spark from the flint causes this paper to light. It is a very simple device, but the convenience makes it amazing. Small enough to have with you at all times, in auto glove compartment or in fishing or camping gear. I only wonder ,where will I get additional rolls?

It doesn't look like much but this Zippo Emergency fire kit could be a saving for you in many cases. Living in the country and never knowing if the power is going out and you need to light a fire or candles and can't find matches you have this to relay on as its compact does not take up any space so to speak and is ready to go. Another use is for outdoor grills or fire pits just in case you stuck with no light or matchs, plus this would be a campers delight. Yes the Zippo Emergency Fire kit can do it all when it comes to light up tiem.

The Zippo Emergency Fire Kit is an excellent addition to any emergency kit. This is designed to save the day. Some features are water resistance, a reliable spark, portability,its ergonomic design. It is small and compact making it easily packable & carrying for camping,hiking,back packing etc. It performs as advertised. I can recommend this product as a must have.
