This is my keep on hand favorite! Not just for chips! Whether you want it cold or heated up, this salsa keeps it's flavor. I use it not just as a dip or topping but creating delicious meals as well. Not all grocery stores carry it, so I was overjoyed to get it through Walmarts grocery app.
Well, Walmart is the only retailer (that I have found in my area) that carries the medium cilantro. However, the jar says medium, but the description says mild. I really think this is a mild version.
Just enough spice
I had never tried La Victoria salsa before, I usually used a different brand. This salsa was chunky and full of flavor, I tried the medium, which has a little bit of a kick, but is not overly spicy. This was a winner with my family and I don't think we'll go back to our previous brand.
This medium spicy salsa is appropriately labeled and I really like the clear glass making it easy to see the chunks of veggies which are just waiting to tantalize the taste buds. I used part of the bottle to spice up an omelet, giving it that something extra. The other half of the bottle I used like I do most salsas, to enjoy Friday happy hour at home with a few Coronas and some chips. I did add an avocado making this a slightly upgraded salsa or a bit of a guacamole, depending on how you look at it.
I bought this because I love cilantro. While I could faintly taste it, me personally, could have used more cilantro.
I tried the medium salsa cilantro a few different ways. First, gave it a shot as a stand alone salsa. Standalone, the salsa had a bit of an acidic taste, but the overall flavor was on point. I gave the salsa another shot but used it as spicy tomato base to give my refried beans a kick. Cooked the sauce down a little bit with some fresh onions and garlic which rounded out the rough edges and elevated the beans.
Hi, Actually, we don't get used to use cilantro in our cuisine but, I want to try this and I like but it will be less cilantro favor. Medium chilly is good for us. I can use this for our food or with the other sauces. And an important point for us is it have U kosher certificate. Thank you.
La Victoria is a more authentic brand than others and I like most of their products better than other leading brands. However, this salsa was a bit too chunky for me. I like smoother salsa and extremely fine chopped up ingredients. I'm not certain I would purchase this again.
Too hot to eat
