I love this sugar and have been using it for several years now. I don't use processed sugar anymore! Natural sugar is better! It tastes better so I use less and I only use it for baking! No added sugar to anything else I eat. Most food is sweet naturally!
I am highly satisfied with the Sugar In The Raw Turbinado Cane Sugar (32 oz); the quality is excellent, offering a deep, natural sweetness and a hint of molasses that refined sugars simply can't match. Getting this at such a great price from Walmart made it a fantastic value, and the quick and easy delivery meant I didn't have to hunt through aisles for my favorite sweetener. While this larger box is perfect for baking, I also appreciate the convenience of the brand's smaller formats for travel. The coarse, golden crystals provide excellent portion control when sprinkling over oatmeal or muffins, though it's important to note that because of their size, they melt and dissolve much slower in cold liquids compared to hot coffee or tea.
I was introduced to this brand in New York back in 1973. At the time my parents were delving into a more natural diet. I wanted to sweeten my oatmeal, and the only sugar in the house was "Raw" sugar. Well, I was dubious at first (and pregnant) but I thought it would taste like the regular "brown " sugar. Well to my surprise, the taste landed and is still a mainstay in my diet 52 years later!! My coffee is not right without it!! The crunchiness is addictive, the taste is warm, and I have been pleased to find it in some restaurants!! I purchase both the free-flowing and the packets, which come in handy if I am on a road trip.
For the first time my package of PG TIps Tea was delivered to the office of the apartment complex and not at my door. This really does cause added difficulty for me to navigate steps etc And the reason I now have a delivery service is so I don't have to carry packages . Thank you for your help.
This is an accent sugar(Raw sugar). It has a delicate sweetness with warm-like sun drops of amber glass golden like sweetness. I think it is better than brown sugar for cereal and coffee and tea. Also nice on top of oat meal or oat bran or hot cereal. Delicious. My coffee is not as good as when I add a half teaspoon with my teaspoon sweetener and coffee w/ creamer lactaid. I recommend…this Raw Sugar as an accent.
I like this here. I really do. It's real sugar and Willa uses it in cooking nice things, delicious things like well I can't really think of what but I like this stuff. I was thinking crème brûlée where you put this sugar on the top and then melt it with a torch until it turns brown but I made that only one time after we got ramekins one Christmas and it was a hit but the thing is you shouldn't call a product by a name like In the Raw because that makes you think of things you ought not be thinkin about in relation to sugar unless you happen to be sugar itself in which case I suppose you ought to stay dressed unless you have a very good reason for being in the raw, am I right?
You might think sugar is sugar, but the extra crunch from the larger grains, and the added taste from being less refined (I think it still has some molasses in it) makes it way better than regular sugar. It used to be my little secret but my husband and my father found out about my stash and now I really have to monitor the supply. It's great as a replacement for regular sugar but because it's more expensive, I use it more in my coffee and tea. Also for a topper for baked goods. Love it!
I have had this product before mostly in packets and I feel it is a nice sugar with minimal processing and has a slight but pleasant molasses flavor which I think augments beverages like tea and coffee without making your beverage brain-killingly sweet! I haven't tried it with anything else yet but if you want a sugar that still has trace nutrients, is gently sweet and fun to eat sparingly on its own then this might be something to try.
I have used Sugar in the Raw for over 15 years. I like to sprinkle it on the top of pie crust before I bake it, or on scones or muffins to add a little crunch to them. I don't eat a lot of sugar, but I will put some of this on my Special K cereal with sliced bananas, fresh giant sized blueberries and chopped pecans. Such a happy breakfast with black coffee!
This is something that my husband and I use for making breakfasts of waffles, pancakes, corn bread, and muffins frequently. I personally have no clue what is good for what, but I know that Sugar in the Raw is a superior brand of things that are good, and turbinado sugar isn't something that you can apparently go wrong with since. It tastes nice, not too sweet, or bitter, and it works for all of our breakfast making needs.
