Super economical product with good flavor, very easy to prepare quickly and tasty for a last minute side, or a full meal when topped with loads of stuff like a loaded potato. I always keep some instant mashed potatoes on hand to thicken souos, especially potato soup, and add a little flavor. Good stuff when topped with melted cheese and sour cream. Bland if you don't use any add ins. Very versatile and easy on the purse.
These are a great tasting quick add to any meal. They have only one additive which is hot water. They are preseasoned and once you stir them up you're ready to go. Great side dish for people on the go. Plus they are actually more than one serving which means you can store them in a freezer bag and ddivide then into squares and either heat them up again in the microwave or fry them as potatoe patties at a later date
'Unmatched speed and convenience, with a preparation process that takes a fraction of the time compared to fresh potatoes. They also have a long shelf life, making them an accessible pantry staple, and their dried flakes can be a versatile thickening agent for soups, stews, and sauces. While they may contain more sodium and less vitamin C than fresh potatoes, provides a creamy, satisfying texture, especially when customized with additional butter, cheese, and other seasonings."
I always do half milk and half water to make these. I microwave the water with a tablespoon of butter and then add the instant potatoes and sometimes dried garlic. Mix until all damp and then add the milk a little at a time. Microwave whole thing for about 55 seconds and voila.
I love this, it's easy, and has a great taste. You can add things like roasted garlic, chives, and anything you like. There are times that I have made homemade, and put too much milk, and added this and there was no real difference, especially with the taste.
Delicious mashed potatoes. I have made it in a sauce pan on top of the stove and also in the microwave. We like to add butter and some seasoning to it. A little bit of salt and pepper goes a long way. You can add some crispy onions and cheese on top if you want to go all out. It's so many things you can do with mashed potatoes. We also like to add some ground beef on top like a shepherds pie with it.
I don't make real mashed potatoes anymore. I have found I can make instant potatoes taste almost as good as real potatoes. In this case I don't need a top brand name. I can take any store brand mashed potato and flavor it to taste just as good as any big brand name.
very easy to make and taste great if you like Idaho potatoes these are for you definitely Always nice to have on hand in pantry great value smooth mash potatoes can add fixings to spice them up and makes great garlic and onions potatoes great to use for potatoes fried cakes YUMMY 😋💐💖💯
My 10 year old enjoys cooking with these potatoes a lot. They're so easy to make and can easily use them as an ingredient in kid friendly casseroles. They work good as a topper for hamburger based dishes. They are simple to microwave a serving and then add in whatever you want (butter, sour cream, cheese, seasonings).
I usually get the Idahoan instant mashed potatoes, but decided to try the generic Walmart brand, because how different could it be? Omg was it absolutely disgusting!! The texture is lumpy glue. I immediately threw out the whole box and ordered the proper Idahoan brand.
