I have used Spring Valley Extra Strength hair, Skin %26 Nails Collagen Support Soft gels on an off over the years. At age70, my hair is dull and thin and my nails are constantly snagging things. My skin is dry even though it's summer. So, I decided it was time to start using it again. I just wish it was 1 soft gel per dose and not 3! By the time I take my meds and other supplements, I'm swallowing many pills.
I've been taking these for about a month. I can see growth in my hair and nails. They don't taste great, but then most supplements don't. I don't like having to take 3 pills for 1 serving. It would be nice for them to be a single serving, but it might make them too big. Overall, I am pleased with these and will continue to take them.
These do seem to work and are more affordable than some other brands and formulas of this type of supplement. One negative about these is that you take 3 "per serving", whereas other brands are just the one capsule, so with these you have to take 3 at a time, not just one. Easy to swallow and no aftertaste. Again, they do work, seem to make my hair healthier and grow better.
Wow !! these Vitamins work super fast ! I started taking then 3 days ago and I trimmed my finger nails that same Morning...well I had to trim them again this morning because in just 3 days my nails grew another 1/4 inch!!! ...usually my nails grow about 1/4 inch a week...so that's more than twice as fast...
My hair and nails look fabulous since i started taking these. My face still looks old though, lol. Before my nails would split or peel if I looked at them wrong, but they are a nice length now and hard as rocks. My hair is fuller and shinier too. Still with the wrinkles though.
I had to get about 3 months in my system then I noticed a great improvement on my nails they are a lot stronger! My hair has slowed down on falling out %26 breaking off. I hope that it helps to grow new back in but I don't think there's a product on the market that does that yet!
I have brittle nails . There always cracking or breaking off and I'm constantly filing my nails so I don't snag on my clothes or towels. My friend was taking a hair, skin, and nails, vitamins and she grows her nails out well. This is a more economical version of what she's taking but I have noticed that my nails are stronger I've just started noticing a difference. You have to take it regularly for many weeks before you notice a change because it takes time for your nails to grow out before you notice a difference. Im happy I have something to help me that I can afford to take on a regular basis. The ingredients are the same as the more expensive versions, but this is less expensive.
We were getting big bruises on our arms from barely hurting ourselves. We started taking this supplement and it has helped us considerably. We're not getting the bruises anymore. I know it was from taking them consistently!
I buy these Hair, Skin and Nail Vitamins quite often. I would like to think this supplement helps my hair, nails and skin; hence, the reason I purchase them whenever close to being out. (Maybe it's a comfort thing to know that I'm taking this particular supplement!) Yep, I would recommend taking supplements; however, make sure to shop around because supplements are becoming more expensive (as with everything else!) to make sure any additions to your budget are considered!
I bought these in hopes of helping my split nails to repair. I was also hoping to boost regrowth of my hair after having had a broken arm (the healing process leeched all my nutrients to the bone, resulting in hair loss). I can say that yes, after 3 weeks my nails are a little stronger and hair regrowth is on track. HOWEVER, there are side effects that make those pros not worth it for me. I seriously urge anyone wanting to take a megadose of biotin to READ ALL POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS. They are plentiful. My skin and hair became extremely greasy, resulting in a very bad acne breakout. It is especially along my chin and jaw area. I also had an issue with hairs growing on my neck and chin. These are annoying to be sure, but I also suffered less common side effects that made me stop taking the pills. It mentions on the bottle that lab tests could give false positives and skew results. Well, it turns urine a very bright color with a bad odor reminiscent of the odor of the pills themselves. After 3 weeks, I began having issues with irritation of my urinary tract. Even that hasn't been the worst symptom. I have had heart palpitations and extreme blood sugar fluctuations. I would be stuttering and trembling from them and having extreme weakness. I am NOT diabetic. My blood sugar is typically average. It was a terrifying feeling when paired with heart palpitations. 24 hours without the pills, and I'm already feeling a little better. I will disclose that I've had a gastric sleeve surgery over a decade ago. That may be a factor in how I reacted to the megadose of biotin. I also am not claiming wrongdoing on the manufacturer's part. The pills are exactly what they claim to be. I wouldn't recommend these to anyone with a sensitive sense of smell. The odor of the pills is not great. It's also a hassle to need to take 3 pills rather than a single pill. I would feel better about suggesting these pills if there was maybe a QR code you could scan that listed some possible side effects. Bottom Line: RESEARCH side effects before taking these. If you have heart issues, diabetes or kidney issues I'd warn against them or any biotin megadose.
