I did a lot of research and was reading reviews on a bunch of lanterns. Was looking for crank, solar and battery operated and this is one of the only ones I found and the others were way more expensive. I needed these for emergency situations especially if power was out for a while and maybe couldn't get ahold of batteries or ran out. Also what if the crank breaks? (Therefore wanted all 3 modes). Went with these and I was so impressed! There was barely any light coming through in my apartment and definitely no direct beams of sunlight and as soon as I took it out of the box I saw the red light come on that indicates it is being solar charged, amazing! Tested out cranks and those worked great too. Put both outside for about an hour to get solar charge and I haven't had to put them back out since and I've been using them consistently at night where light is low in my apartment. I bought two and they both work perfectly! 3 light modes (low-high) and they are so bright! They are also lightweight but they don't feel cheap. Nice matte rubber around the bottom and bonus is the USB port to charge electronics etc. 1st emergency gear purchase where I was 100% satisfied. I'll be purchasing more for myself and as gifts. Get these you won't be disappointed!

Great light, well made, ready to go, everything works great on this lantern... I am buying more of these.

I like that it came sooner than expected.. I like that it was bright.. just like the ones I ordered prior to this... I did NOT like that the USB cable was not included.. when I first purchased these lanterns.. {I bought 2 of them..(one during a move was destroyed ) but not only did the price increase from the last time I purchased it.. you would think that it would come with the USB cable. I may have NOT purchased again... had I known.

I love the fact that its rechargeable and is also solar. The usb is also a bonus to charge phone but hate the fact that part of the crank handle broke so easily when i started cranking it.

I can't believe i paid almost $30 for this and first came broke not even bring a charger like really?
