excellent, tasty, economical! I have used this product in several ways: as a regular salsa/dip for chips and crudites, as part of a cold bean salad, in pasta sauce for some extra zip, and in making enchiladas and empanadas. This product is quite versatile for adding to lots of recipes in my kitchen.
I like a little kick not too much heat that I can't enjoy my food. Just enough spicy to let you enjoy your food and know that you are eating salsa. I feel the price and size was ok not terrible but who wouldn't want a bigger size. Yes, great for tacos, Mexican meals and sometimes I even add to my tomato sauce depending on what meal I'm cooking. Yes, but this great purchase.
This salsa is thick, chunky, and has a wonderful spice to it. I use it in everything from my scrambled eggs to the top of my burger. I also like to add it to marinara sauce because it gives it a kick without the calories. I don't see why one would pay more for a competitor brand because this is really tasty--restaurant quality.
I read the reviews before I buy anything I haven't tried before. The reviews for this GV brand over the ones like Chi-Chi's that I had been buying were convincing enough for me to try the GV one. They weren't wrong. I like the thick and chunky with just a little bit of spiciness. I will continue to buy GV salsa and save money, too!
I'm not huge on leaving snack reviews, but this salsa was so good, I wanted others to know. I like trying different salsas but do get hooked on some brands. last one I was really loving was Clints Salsa brand. well this great value brand salsa even beats that! the 'mild' is perfect amount of heat. The salsa is not too runny nor too thick- just right! My husband and I are the entire jar in one sitting. with great value tortilla chips too. they were great together. highly recommend this!
I like this jar salsa. I often use it over scrambled eggs and salads. I like the think chunkiness. I wouldn't mind if it was a little hotter. Reasonably priced; a great value.
I was genuinely surprised at the quality of this salsa. It's one of the better Jar salsas that I've had. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick salsa fix for dipping tortilla chips, Nachos, Tacos, etc...
My family loves this salsa it is a bit chunky and we love to eat it on homemade nachos, tacos, and when I make a taco pizza. Sometimes we just put it on anything but we do enjoy it alot. It does have the right balance of ingredients. Just a bit disappointed when they went from the 20 ounce jar down to the 16 ounce but the price stayed the same. We try to always keep at least 6 minimal of these 16 ounce jars in the cabinet.
My usual salsa had gone bad. I'm hoping it was a fluke but when I opened the jar and tasted the salsa, it was old tasting. It also had a metallic taste. I called the store and was issued a refund. I'm skeptical to try again
I opened a new jar of Great Value Chunky Medium Salsa, and as soon as the freshness seal popped, a maggot fell out of the jar. This happened immediately upon opening, so it clearly wasn't from storage or handling on my end — it was inside the sealed product. I contacted Walmart corporate to report the contamination, expecting they would want to investigate a potential food‑safety issue. Instead, I was simply told to bring the jar back for a refund, with no indication that the quality or safety concern would be escalated. A sealed, shelf‑stable product should never contain insect larvae, and the lack of concern when I reported it was disappointing.
