Abco Tech Lawn Aerator Spike Shoes for Aerating Lawn Soil | 3 Adjustable Straps and Heavy Duty Metal Buckles

I could feel the spikes sink into the ground with every step, it was amazing how good they work. I needed them because I am over seeding with some expensive grass seed and I need it to grow the first time. Two things I would do different than suggested by the manufacturer: 1) Do not water the lawn beforehand because is not necessary. If watered the shoes will then bring up clumps of mud and stick to the shoes. 2) My boot would keep coming off the aerator toward the heel. To prevent this I put the longer strap through the center slot of the aerator and through the pullup strap on the back of my boot.

Decided on these aerators because they have a back for the heel and three nice belts with metal buckles to keep the foot snugly in place. Like them, they worked pretty well after the rain. I have no complains about this product except it would be helpful to have assembly instructions rather than only a picture on the box.

Excellent ! Just what I wanted. Tbey fit well over my sneakers. Straps were strong and adjustable and in the right places. Spikes sank in the ground but I didnt have trouble walking. Dont hesitate to order ! I even used them on my hillsides.

You will have to do a lot of steps

It absolutely aerated the grass but they would not stay on my feet or my husbands feet. We tried boots, rainboots and tennis shoes and we could not keep it from coming off our feet within 4 to 5 steps. The areas where we were able to walk with it while fighting to keep them on DID aerate and grass began to grow after seeding.

The title says it comes with heavy duty metal buckles. It even shows them in the photo. It comes with cheap plastic buckles that come undone after a few steps. When you go to tighten them the buckles easily break. The fact that the keep coming undone renders the product useless. I asked the seller to send me the heavy duty buckles and straps. If this happens and the buckles hold the spikes onto the shoe I will then recommend this product.

For someone 70 I would not recommend.

It was funny to try, but even tightening the laces until it hurt my feet, the shoes were moving away from my feet constantly. Finally, I used some ropes to tie them, and I reached to walk a little on my lawn, but since the soil was not too soft, the spikes just didn't dig any hole, breaking one of them quickly. I tried again after it rained, and it worked a little better, digging 0,5 - 1 inch deep holes on the lawn, but after doing a few square feet, my legs were too tired to continue, and the shoes started to get full of clay to the point that it was impossible to dig any hole on the soil, so I stopped doing the job and I throwed them to the thrash.

DO NOT BUY! THESE THINGS ARE DANGEROUS Attach the straps first! Because the straps don't fit tightly, and are nearly impossible to tighten or loosen once they are in place, they can easily slip out of place while in use. That makes them a tripping/falling hazard. I will be returning. Took over 1.5 hours to assemble, mostly due to straps being so hard to figure out. Instructions need to be much clearer. They measure, about 12 inches by 5.5 inches, making them too big for most women. You can make them slightly smaller by attaching the straps in the 2nd hole from the toe, instead of the first. I wear them over boots, which makes them almost fit.
