AcuRite Wireless Self-Emptying Rain Gauge with Indoor Digital Display, Alerts, Rain Records (02446M)

I have had several electronic rain gauges and this is by far the best one yet. It is easy to read, easy to see rainfall amounts from the past, and very accurate and easy to set up.

I haven't had this item very long, so unable to comment for long time usage. As of now, it works great. Especially like not having to go out and empty the water out of it. Nothing to do with the item itself, but my fence leans a little, so trying to get the unit as close to level as possible, took a little bit to complete. If there was a base that can be raised if needed to help level it out a lot better, I would be interested it that also

When I did the calibration, the pin hole in the bottom of a cup didn't work too well. Put a small screen in the sink to level it and let the faucet just drip into it. But then, what ran through it stayed on the gauge reading. So I have to subtract that from complete total. Would buy again. Love it.

The packaging was terrible! the outer box was ripped, and no inside box. I will see if the item is damaged when it is tried to be set up. It is a gift.

The instructions are hard to understand. Hasn't for it programmed yet

This return was never acknowledged. I fulfilled my end of the deal, altho' I do not use a smart phone, nor do I text, but I handed my return to the curbside pickup person along with all the paper work and asked him to scan the return authorization barcode. This happened as I was picking up a curbside order at the same time. You still owe me for the return of the rain gauge, and I would expect an answer as to why I'm still out $35 for a defective rain gauge??????

I've had a number of accurite products over the years and they are either not accurate or they fail over a short period of time. This rain gauge registered .12 inches of rain this morning when all we experienced locally was fog. My Ambient technology instrument correctly recorded no precipitation. I only bought this unit because my accurite atlas was not reliable either. Waste of money again.
