Ames 1942600 Serrated Grass Whip

I've been looking for this historical item %26 found it much cheaper at Walmart %26 the same quality. I grew up using one. So excited to get it.

worked perfectly fir clearing some pretty tall brush. sturdy!

Looks great.Have not had a chance to give it a swing as of yet.

Cuts through weeds well, including thick green stalks. The shaft is rather short could be 6 inch longer for even average height people, but nice smooth handle.

Like handle, packaging was questionable.

I have not taken back yet, but might. I have a area of ground cover that just can not keep out certain Florida weeds. So I thought this might be good to just walk through and knock the weed shoots off at ground cover level (vs. firing up the weed wacker). The blade is not that sharp or just does not work well on thin weed shoots. Look else where if you want to thin out grasses.

first one that was delivered thought it was damaged in shipping, took it back ordered 2nd one, that one came damaged as well, the shaft was bent and paint peeled. the third one I received was in perfect shape, I used it once. my tiny girlfriend uses it for the first time and the wooden handle breaks. Just received a fourth one and now we are back to a bent shaft again .... at least this one is not bent so bad that I can't use it so I will keep it for now. Over all this is either junk and easily damaged or the people selling the product don't take care of their products. (this is shipped with no padding or box)

I sharpened it and it works to cut tall grass and weeds. Would feel much better if it was gripped from the side and had some counter weight above the handle. Good lesson in why a scythe is shaped the way it is.

I was sent an empty box with a label of the product I purchased. I attached a photo of this tiny box with the content. Seriously a double- edge grass whip in this box?

All I received was a small cardboard box with a half-taped hole in it
