AT&T CL83519 5 Handset Answering System with Smart Call Block

This is a terrific phone system. Easy setup and great features. The best part is that it has a screening ability that our phone company, Mediacom, still fails to have. We have not had one robocall since we installed the system over 4 months ago. We normally get from 2 to 6 robocalls per day, but none have rung through. I highly recommend this system to anyone sick of the robocalls. Now we have phones throughout the house upstairs and down and all work great.

I bought these phones as a birthday present for my 80 year old mother. She has a traditional land line with a listed number so she gets a massive amount of robocalls. She complained that she could not take an afternoon nap without being woke up by a computer generated call wanting to sell her a car warranty or lower her interest rates. She complained about being woke up in the morning from a sound sleep by a telephone solicitor. She wanted to get the calls from family and friends without having to deal with robocalls. This phone immediately done the trick. Family and friends are easily added to the telephone's directory. Robocallers never make this phone ring. The phone has great clarity and volume. The phone is backlit with big buttons that are easy to see. Every handset has talking caller ID. Fraud is pervasive in our society. I formerly worked as an Adult Protective Services Consultant and it is important to understand that fraud must be stopped before it occurs. Once a person is scammed out of their money it almost always gone forever. That is where these phones come in. These phones make life much safer for my mother and no longer do I hear her complain about the auto warranty people who will not leave her alone or a caller wanting to lower her interest rate or refinance her student loan. This model supports up to 12 handsets. My mother ordered an extra handset and no longer shuns the phone because when it rings now, it is family or friends wanting to talk. The base is a speakerphone with a full featured answering system and it can be set to answer after six rings. In a power failure the base can take power from a docked phone to make and receive calls while the power is off. I recommend these phones to stop robocallers. Things are much better and more secure when robocallers are locked out and locked out they are.

They are easy to set up and work perfectly. No robo calls getting through. If you are as sick and tired of getting all these annoying calls as I am, this is the phone system you need. Just follow the directions and in no time you can kiss them goodbye.

WOW! I have never had such quick service!! I ordered the phone set this afternoon, and it arrived on my porch in my garage just a short few hours later!! Of course, I am very pleased!!! It arrived just as we were about to sit down to dinner, so I haven't had a chance to use it yet. The phone set looks just like I expected, and I'm sure that I will enjoy it very much.

Everything is good about the phone. Still trying to program the call block. We only have two numbers in the directory so the phone is screening all calls except them.

I love this phone. I gave it a 4 star, because you only have 50 callers on directory and it's only access to the base and NOT the handset for convenience. You can only dial and use speed dial on handset. Be patient though, because you have a lot of programming to do. But it is totally worth it. You will not have any more Robo calls, smart phone will take care of those. And spam calls or unwanted calls, you can block those and they don't come through. The screening is awesome. My house has never been so quiet. No unwanted calls are getting through. The directory is limited to 50, the friends that you didn't have room in your directory to put them in, your phone will just screen them and ask them to hit the pound key if they are friend, family or welcome caller. No big deal. The phone will ring after they push the pound key. Unless you know their phone number, their name won't show up on screen for you to answer. If you pick up the phone and it happens to be an unwanted caller, just hit the block circle on the handset. You can even tap the block call while they're still talking.

Phones are okay if you are putting base on a table or desk. If you are mounting on wall with bracket that is included the rest of the bracket is visible under phone since only the top of bracket is used. I must mention that my original phone outlet was originally mounted about 5 feet from ground which was okay for my other phone which was angled differently and now this base is angled up so that I can't see top of base.

This item came with many parts missing and could not be used. Then after getting my refund, I get an e-mail saying the item received did not match the return request and my credit card was being charged again. I have not been able to reach anybody to find out what the problem is.

I haven't had any luck hooking this up? My phone carrier says it must be the phone itself? I really don't feel up to returning it. I think the box for the phones was recycled. I doubt the store will give me a refund or credit to purchase a new set if I don't have it's packaging.

does not come with enough info to program the simplest of things. I recieved 1 sheet of paper that looked like a copy of a poor copy( barely legible). phone is very difficult to navigate thru the programming. do not buy unless you like very frustrated. can't figure out the call blocking after 3 days of use. If we did not need it we would have returned it. don' expect help with their toll free number as the person I talked to could not speak english good enough to understand her.
