We are not major users of the land line as cell phones are our primary phone use. I received it within 3 days of ordering with basic shipping. It was very easy to hook up and install. Be aware that you will also be charged to create a phone number. However, when weighing out the costs, we will be in the money in less than 1 year. Quality of communication is as good as when we had the land line. I would recommend this product to others if your motive is similar to mine.
Paraphrasing Nike in the subject line. If you have broadband Internet service and a credit card and you want a landline that's really cheap, or even FREE if you just want to make calls in the US, Ooma is for you. The Telo sets up easily. We use a four handset Panasonic cordless phone system throughout the house. Plug Ooma into Ethernet, Plug phone(s) into Ooma. Wait while software updates - not long at all, just a little patience. needed You get free calls, great voice quality and quick call setup. They let you trial the advanced features and you can decide if you want them. Need to call outside the US? They have calling plans that are (we hate this word) cheap. Ooma will port your number from your current carrier once you decide you like the service. Want an additional line? Buy Ooma and keep whatever you're using now. It's just the best thing I've found for fixed location telephone service.
I cut the cord to my landline and I am not looking back. Due to the economy I needed to cost my expenses. I hooked this up to my internet and my Uniden DECT 6.0 Loud and Clear phone. Worked great and I pretty easy to install and I am not a computer geek. I have 5 extension phones linked to my main phone and so far I like the product a lot. I know that I am going to enjoy my savings. I opted for the Premier services at just under $10 month so that I could have my phone number ported (transferred) at no cost. My phone bill with the premium services should be under $15.00 per month. Great!!
It took me about 45 minutes to set the system up, but once set up it works just like a landline. I was keeping the old landline for alarm monitoring and 911 calls only. My alarm company installed a cell phone to handle the alarm system and Ooma handles the 911 issue. My phone bill was $57 per month. Now I pay $6 for the alarm cell phone and less than $4 for Ooma! That saves me over $500 per year. And it was fun telling the phone company goodbye!!!!
I have had an ooma for almost 3 years now and love it, our cells dont work well at the house and didnt want to keep paying for a "landline", this is super easy to set up and have running in no time, plus I ported my old landline number to it for any bills or accts that were tied to my old number. I just purchased this telo 2 for my mother she loves it so far no computer needed like the other brand my brother set her up on ( it had terrible voice delay garbled and beep tones randomly while she used it...must have been the "magic" part" ) sure the upfront cost is slightly more, but a really good product overall
System meets all of my expectations. The voice clarity is great and the system is dependable. After initial purchase of system, there is almost no operating expense, though a good internet connection must be maintained, but most people have that anyway. Good money saver!
After years of putting up with the phone company's high bills and poor service I did some research on Volp phone systems. I decided on Ooma after reading reviews and talking with some friends. Best thing I ever did. My phone bill used to be around $65 and now it's $4.92 a month. The sound is crystal clear and it's so easy to install. I was making calls in about 10 minutes. You can keep your current phone number for a one time porting cost of $39 or get a new number. If you have any problems or questions, the customer service is great.
I am thrilled. I have accepted the basic service which is very inexpensive. Though you do have to accept some compromises, example you get free voice mail, but the only way to know you have a new message is to check the website. Message alert is part of the $10 per month premier service. There are other limitations like this, but heck they are giving you a lot for free and you can't blame them for wanting you to upgrade. As I use my mobile as my primary number I am just happy to have a 911 connection in my house. Also as far as I can tell this is the only service that connects to your standard RJ11 home wiring and allows you to continue to use your existing phones.
Very easy set up. Needed a new number and got it at no cost. Premier plan gives unlimited phone calls to Mexico. $15/month. Saved $25/month over what Vonage costs per month.
The activation, setup and phone number transfer was easy and quick. Communcation from Ooma very good. Quality of the call the same as prior service provider. No issues. Overall very pleased with the system.
