The AT%26T desk/wall phone is just what I needed! I like not having to plug it into an outlet for lighting and am able to see the caller ID on the back of the phone when it's hanging up. Perfect and corded for my privacy use! It's light weight and has large buttons for use.
I am so glad to find this phone. I have two of the older models of this trim line phone by AT&T and they still work very well. Not a fan of the battery phones, these work when the power is out and have all the extras of a battery phone . Very pleased with my purchase. Ordering another one today so I will have an extra on hand if needed.
These days it's difficult to still find a good corded phone and I do have my list of criteria. This meets most all. SOUND quality is good & has 3 levels to adjust if the caller is a low talker vs. a loud talker. RINGER is good and has settings for high, medium and OFF which is great if you want to take a nap. HAS REDIAL & FLASH BUTTON to pick up a waiting call, etc. My only wish is that I could see the new call waiting readout without having to interrupt the current caller. But as with most trim phones, the readout is in the receiver and you can't talk and look at the receiver at the same time. Even though I've only had this phone for a couple of weeks it replaced the same model I bought 15 years ago so I feel I have a lot of experience with it..
This item was just what I expected. It was easy to install and of exceptional quality.
My prior model Trimline phones have performed reliably for decades, so when I decided to add a phone location I ordered both one of the older style Trimline and one of these to compare. We don't have Caller ID Service, but I can see that the other reviewers are correct that a flashlight would be needed to read the display in most situations, and the display numbers are way too small. We like the phone for its grip comfort (slimmer, fits your hand better) and excellent sound quality with easy volume control. It's quick to set up with a real manual, as well. We're sticking with this newer model, which is used on a small table - not sure that the slanted design would work as wall mount, as it appears handset would not stay on the base, but perhaps that's covered in the manual?
The caller ID panel is not lighted, so you can't see it at night or in dim lighting. It takes four AA batteries, so you would think it would be lighted.
Telephone works good, but unlike the picture shows the display does not light up. First time I programmed numbers in memory when I pressed program the dial tone diidn't sound & I got the numbers programmed. The next time I tried I couldn't get dial tone to quit. I couldn't review the numbers without calling them. You get what you paid for.
Wrote E-Mail to explain that battery springs were compressed making caller id and information unusable. Received E-Mail saying that someone would contact me. Never heard back and sent 2 more E-Mails. Phone is useless to me. Want replacement that works or my money back. Cannot understand why no one wrote back in response to my complaints.
The product description is a lie. Nothing is backlit. The only reason I bought this phone was because it was advertised to have backlit caller ID. Even the picture leads you to believe so. This is a big fat lie. This is the worst case of misrepresentation of a product. Do not plan on answering the phone in the middle of the night if you want to know who is calling. Sound quality is ok.
You can not see the caller id because the screen does not have back lightning
