Very surprised and impressed actually

OldNotDead January 6, 2019

I bought this really not sure from the negative reviews but have been pleasantly surprised. I've had all kinds of phones including flagship phones from most the major brands. I work in harsh environments and even with cases my phone's don't survive. So over the past year or two I've switched to budget phones costing in the $50-150 dollar range, that way if I ruin it, no big deal I can get another. Plus I can just find a Walmart and get one and pop the Sim and sd card in and I'm good to go. I went with Android for the backup capabilities of when I do have to replace a phone, I just restore a backup and I'm left with about 30 mins of tinkering with other settings and it's like nothing ever happened. Anyway, I just ruined my Moto phone, which I loved, and went to Walmart and bought a Alcatel Tetra. It was ok but screen kind of non responsive and charging was a nightmare tbh. Great size and quick enough but the charging thing I couldn't live with, so, went back and saw the Axia. I liked it was a bigger screen and the blue color so I got it. Didn't even notice it was the Android Go version until I got it home. Long story short, I set everything up over WiFi and started messing with the Android Go system and everything and it leaves my Tetra phone in the dust. Even as a power user requiring looking at huge spreadsheets and a lot of mapping programs for work and tons of business emails, I can say I really love this phone. No, it's not a $600-800 iPhone or Samsung whatever model, but I can do everything with this phone I did with them and then some....and I only spent $50!! Is it the most responsive all the time? No, but it's not terrible either. I feel sometimes the reviewers expect too much from a budget phone, plus they have probably never known a world without electronics either so they have higher expectations maybe, idk. So many phones people have loved, I found rather crappy and vice versa so it's a personal preference too. I hope they continue with Android Go development for budget Androids because this is all I'm buying now. Seriously, give the $50 phone a chance and have a little patience sometimes (omg it takes a few more seconds for something to open up!..some people say..) and it will serve you well. The ONLY problem I'm having is it's a tad bit glitchy when playing my online tank game but I've adjusted to it and can still play just fine. Thanks ATT and Android for making this platform.
