I have only recently tried this. Taste was very good. Pickle taste was. not overwhelmingly strong. Beet flavor came through clearly. Being able to open, close jar a big plus. Can just use what i need to, rather than entire container. Can be eaten cold or hot. When cold. it is very refreshing. i am going to try adding more water and some sour cream and putting it through a blender to a borsht like soup Should be very good
Pickled beets - I remember they were a favorite treat we ate at Grandma's house! What a surprise to find them at Walmart! Tastes the same as I remember from years ago (brings back fond memories of childhood - what a pleasant surprise. Thank you Walmart! I found them just in time for Thanksgiving!
I love Aunt Nellie's pickled beets. I eat the beets and then use a little bit of the juice in my homemade Thousand Island dressing. Gives it a nice color and adds a touch of sweetness. I prefer the whole beets, but if I can't find them I get the sliced ones.
i love AUNT NELLIE'S SLICED PICLKLED BEETS- they have been among my most favorite pickled foods for many years- they dress up a salad with their bright color, lend extra flavor to stews and add a tasty crunch on a sandwich- the juice tastes so good i often drink it or i use it to pickle boiled eggs- beets are highly rated as one of the most nutritious foods on earth- since they are fermented the shelf life is longer than other foods although they taste so good , i doubt that ever having to be a consideration ---beets are one of the healthiest food you can eat-
These are the best beets I have ever eaten. They're delicious. They fill you up and they're just right. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Especially to those struggling with high blood pressure, or in need of iron. These beets are high I'm vitamins!
These pickled beets are sweet and pickly-delicious. I could eat them straight from the jar, they're so good. The texture and taste is exactly what you would expect from a good pickled beet. I always save the juice and make pickled beet eggs. My husband was one that never liked beets and said they tasted like "dirt", but I am happy to say, he now eats beets, but only the Aunt Nellie's brand. He eats his with a side of cottage cheese.
I have been buying this brand of pickled beets for years. I can't even even remember how long. They are very tasty, they're a good complement to different meals. I just happen to love pickle beats, but this is the brand I buy, and I've been buying probably for over 15 years. I would definitely recommend if you like this type of food.
I prefer a bit more of a tangy taste, but I just pour off a little juice and replace with a tablespoon or so of Raw Apple Cider Vinegar, (with the Mother, of course…)! The texture was excellent, tender but firm, not mushy. They're sure getting expensive though; had to grow my own sugar beets this year so I can make it myself!
This is a good product, and I may have just gotten ahold of a jar that was missed when was checked and canned. The beets were hard to chew, and some still had some of the outer skin on them. I will try again, just to make sure it might have been a onetime thing.
Was disappointed in how small the beet slices were, mostly quarter size n tiny bit bigger as well as smaller slices. Also most of weight is due to beet n pickling juice, says 9 servings, what a joke, almost $5.00 to get 3 or 4 quarter size slices of beets. You must think you r growing in gold dirt to charge $5.00 for 1-2 small-medium size beets. This is robbery!!!
