I don't usually buy albacore because I'm on tight budget. I use according to the recipe needs. Usually I mix lower cost with albacore. . It's okay, I don't need perfect sizing chunks. I have been sending tuna to my nieces since school is out and the kids are home. good old Tuna or peanut butter jelly to the rescue.
This StarKist Albacore Tuna is a staple in our house, and the whole family likes it! It is absolutely delicious and such a versatile ingredient to have on hand. We especially love mixing it into pasta for a quick, satisfying meal. It's packed with high-quality protein, which is great for keeping everyone energized. I also find the can size is perfect for portion control when putting together lunches. Highly recommend!
The price is higher but the quality is worth it. Mild, not as "fishy" tuna. Really good both for sandwiches and casseroles. My husband likes to just eat it plain with a dash or two of hot sauce.
StarKist Solid White Albacore Tuna is the only tuna my mom buys. I didn't figure it out until recently when I bought another brand of tuna that was in water and albacore but not solid white. I actually found bones in the tuna! Bones. I was shocked and read the label that said bones can be in tuna. My mom, who, at 92, has only ever used StarKist Solid White Albacore Tuna has never found bones. That was a huge "I told you so" moment. I knew mom's tuna casserole and tuna salads always tasted better than mine, but I thought that was just because she made them. Once I started using StarKist Solid White Albacore Tuna, mine tasted delicious like hers. There is a reason to pay more for quality in tuna. I will never again buy anything else but StarKist Solid White Albacore Tuna.
Our favorite sandwich? Tuna Our favorite casserole? Tuna Not a week goes by in our house without a tuna meal. It's a favorite. We order it by the dozen! Easy to use in dips, sandwiches, salads and stuffing tomatoes. Good flavor without the canned taste.
Where oh where did the quality of Star Kist tuna go? Costs a lot more nowadays, but certainly not worth it! Bad aftertaste too. Head to Bumble Bee Premium if you want the good stuff!
This has been the ONLY brand of tuna I have purchased for years. Today I was making tuna salad %26 while stirring it, my spoon hit something solid - a long very sharp fish bone. Although I would normally recommend this product, after this discovery, I recommend that you proceed with caution. This could have been devastating if I had swallowed a bite with the bone in it, or if a child had eaten it .
The product has no consistency between cans. One can is good with large chunks of tube the next can is full of mushy leftovers in water. Never buying again
i buy tuna all the time. same kind always. but thi last can has white pieces of plastic in it. and it just looked different all together grom what i normally get. i trashed it
This is literally the most disgusting albacore tuna I have ever had in my life. I have no clue what has happened to your company, but you have literally gone downhill in the last couple years. These last four cans of tuna that I have purchased from Walmart, have driven me to the point of never purchasing your product again. There’s absolutely no reason the cans have numerous bones in them numerous scales in them, and half of the tuna has skin on it. You should be ashamed of yourself. Your Starkiss business is ripping people off because they pay a good price for a good tuna. Unfortunately, you have no good tuna to sell. Learn how to clean it correctly.
