Aurora Medium Duty Shredder

This shredder replaces an OfficeMax six-sheet shredder that I had for around ten years. The teeth on that one melted when I worked it too hard recently. This new Aurora is quieter and cuts the pieces a bit smaller than the old OfficeMax model. The small window on the front of the receptacle helps you know when it is starting to get full, so you don't over-fill and get paper caught up in the blades. I had several months' worth of old bills to shred and spent about 30 minutes feeding them through and filling up about two receptacles, without the unit seeming to get too terribly hot. Recommended.

Very please with this unit, the rollers on the basket allow the unit to move effortlessly so it can be moved where needed and quickly moved back out of the way for storage when not needed. The motor appears to be powerful enough to shred multiple sheets of papers without blogging down or over heating. I especially like the cross-cut action which more effectively sheds the paper into smaller non-recoverable pieces than a regular straight shredder. The auto start with the safety shield cover works great preventing unwanted material from entering the unit. I had no problem shedding old credit cards or CD without the unit jamming. Works great so far and I would definitely recommend this unit.

This shredder works great at my office! I love that is cuts paper into smaller pieces than traditional shredders for an even more sense of security. It is on wheels which makes it easy to move from under my desk when I need it. Simple to use. I have only shredded papers, about 10 sheets at once, and it works like a charm. For my everyday use at the office it is definitely worth the price! Easy to remove the shredding top part (though it is a bit heavy) and empty the bin, the bin itself is very light weight and the side window makes it easy to see when it is starting to get full. The bin is a good size and I only have to empty it once or twice a week but I guess that depends on how much you are shredding on a regular basis. I am not sure how well it shreds credit cards or CD's but works great with paper. It is a bit loud when it is shredding but that is expected. Great product, definitely recommend it!

I needed a shredder for years as previous ones have burned out. This shredder does the job. My only concern is that I wished the bin was bigger. The bin itself is about 18 inches tall, so it does not hold much. However the cross cut allows you to fit more. I am pleased overall with my purchase

When my older Aurora shredded finally died, I figured I had good use of it so I'd try another Aurora product. After reading the reviews, I decided on this 12 cut cross cut. The day it arrived, it only took a few minutes to set it up & I was back to shredding paper! I haven't tried putting 12 sheets together, in it, but it works great so far. I do like the casters, so I can move it easily & I like the flip top that hopefully would keep little fingers away from the feed slot. (not that I would let the grandkids near it anyway) Only reason I didn't rate it "Excellent" is because the review said it was quiet but it makes as much noise as my old one did. Also, the window in the front makes it easy to see when the bin is full so you don't over stuff it & risk clogging the shredder.

This machine does a nice job of cross cutting / shredding paper; however, it will jam if the wastebasket is not emptied promptly when the paper level rises close to the top. The cure for jamming is to call customer service, so beware of the problem and empty the waste basket in a timely manner.

the pieces where a lot larger than my previous shredder. I was disappointed with that and that got the "3" rating since shredding is the main function. other than that it is quiet and shreds more sheets at a time. did not try the card and CD function yet.

My Aurora shedder I had for 18 yrs finally broke so I bought this one hoping it would shred just the same. The strips seemed wider, though they weren't long strips they were still a good size that they could be put back together. Which I didn't like when shredding important papers. The credit card goes in the long way so when I shredded two cards (one at a time) I was able to see the numbers good in the strips and put it together to see the whole numbers. I didn't like that. I then cut another card, first using scissors to cut across numbers and name so they would come out smaller when put through the shredder. It was better but why hassle every time I'm shredding a card, when I bought a shredder to do that. Other reviewers liked how it shredded but I'd rather have one that shreds smaller for better privacy. I returned it and I'm going to buy a Micro cut shredder.

It jammed the third time I used it and was hard to get unjammed. Also it has a cover over the entry point so paper does not go straight down but on an angle. Might be for protection but is an problem. Look elsewhere for your shredder.

Did not work. Now I have to spent money to returned back witch is going to cost me almost amount paid.
