visually, everything checks out very well. I bought a pair of 70lbs where the chrome handle and rubber coat shows no signs of defects. The only slight problem I have is the difference in weight which is always a gamble that doesn't make a difference in your workout anyway. One dumbbell is 68lb while the other is 66.9lb. BE AWARE dumbbells all around the world are never the correct weight due to the processing it takes to make them! The heavier the weight, the higher the chances of getting a higher difference in weight because of the little manual tweaks that add up to form a difference in each dumbbell. So a 1lb, 2lb difference is perfectly fine (your body will not feel a difference in strain if the dumbbell is higher than 30lbs alone), but this usually only happens with heavier weights. I did some 'squats' and 'chest presses' with them and I never did feel a weight difference on one side of my body, so I'm gonna give it a perfect!

I had been looking to buy a new set of dumbbells but right now it seems a lot are going for close to $2 per pound. My local Walmart had an identical set but they were $72 each, the cheapest ones Amazon sells are $54 each. I found these sold as a pair which was exactly what I was looking for. They are the lowest price for 2 40lb dumbbells and on top of that are free shipping (which isn't cheap for this much weight) so that sealed the deal for me. They came in 2 days from FedEx, were well packaged in 2 cardboard boxes with metal staples. The box was fairly sturdy and wasn't ripped or busted anywhere. The weights are encased in foam padding and arrived in perfect shape. They do smell like a very strong rubber for about a week but then it significantly weakens but you can still smell them while you're using them. My main complaint was, as others mentioned, that they can leave behind black residue on your hands or clothes as they have a slight oily film on them. I first tried wiping them off with degreaser which slightly helped but I had to repeatedly rub them with a dry microfiber towel until it stopped turning black to get the weights to where they wouldn't keep leaving black marks on anything they brushed against. I found the knurling to be a bit aggressive at this weight, to where it was deeply digging into my skin, so I put a layer of duct tape over the knurling and they're very comfortable now. One dumbbell weighed around 39lbs 7oz and the other was 2 or 3 ounces heavier, so not perfect but I'm not going to complain about them being a half of a pound off. They've been holding up well and I think these are the best dumbbells to get as they're the cheapest, include free shipping, and are well packaged. Just keep in mind you'll likely want a space to let them air out for a while and will need to invest some time into wiping the oily film off the rubber if you don't want them marking your clothes or hands up.

Best set of Dumbbells I ever had. I was previously using 15Lbs Dumbbells and wanted to order 20Lbs. This came with a solid box and ofcourse was super heavy. Best service by Walmart for making the delivery on time. I would definitely recommend this product anytime!

So I ordered two 100lb dumbbells and they were shipped from two different locations. The first one showed up without a box and looked like trash upon arrival. The second dumbbell was lost in transit and I was sent a replacement. The replacement came within the days and was packaged properly in two boxes, wrapped in plastic and was further secured with packing wraps. The dumbbells themselves are fine even though the first one arrived dirty and with chips to rubber but it functions as it should. Would I buy these again? For the price I would, I just wish Walmart would take greater care in packaging.

I purchased this set with the 550lb large set of dumbbells. These are pretty decent for the price. The weights are not to a calibrated weight so if you was looking for dumbbells with the exact weight less /- 1lb these are not the DBs for you. When I received mine I ended up receiving 3 individual 35lb dbs and 1 40 lb db. I had to call in a return because unlike these review the items were not individual. So put in the return, All items were individually packed, so I returned the extra 35 lb dumbbell after talking with the customer service rep. I sent the item back and I was told I would receive a replacement with a couple days. Well a couple days passed I didn't receive anything. Call Monday the next week, I was given the run around and was told he would look into it. No change again, I think a one point I chatted with someone through their help chats system, not sure how i might have done that. By this time is was the holidays so I wait until that was over called again, was told they were going to elevate the ticket. Its been nearly 4 full weeks since my original return was processed by this time. So I go over everything again, and I see the working on the return "Pair". Got to thinking how am i supposed to return a pair when that is what I was missing. So I decided to, with my own money $40, send the 40lb db back to the same place the first dumbbell. Well there it goes I get an email saying the return has now been received. So now its been a week since they have received both dumbbells and 35lb dumbbell and a 40 lb dumbbell and its new item has not shipped yet. By this time and the money I spend to ship the 40 lb dumbbell I could have just ordered 40lb dumbbell set and been dome with it. This 45lb DB set it fine. Smells like oil but I can live with that.

I recently purchased these dumbbells from Walmart, and unfortunately, I encountered some issues. The handle on one of the dumbbells seems uneven, which makes them feel unbalanced during workouts. This dumbbell "pair" is significantly mismatched. After months of use, it kept feeling like one weight was heavier than the other. And sure enough, when weighed on a scale, one is 19.6lbs and the other is 22.4lbs. Almost a 3 lb difference! Unfortunately I didn't notice in time so my right arm is significantly larger than my left. Ugh. I would strongly NOT recommend this product unless you want to feel lopsided.

I ordered a bulk 5-50 lb set on 6/18 and received everything on the 20th but never received my 45s and 40s. I called customer service and they processed a replacement 45 lb set. I received only one 45 lb dumbbell days later NOT in a box but loose and damaged. A couple of days later I received the second one and this one was also loose and damaged. I called customer service again and they said I had to ship the dumbbells back to them in a Box in order for them to process another replacement… what nerve!!! So I did. I shipped it the same day and they received my boxed shipment on the 24th. I’ve called twice and continue to get the “scripted” run around. Today is the 30th and they have yet to ship my dumbbells. I decided to cancel the replacement request and receive a “partial” refund. Oh yeah, the 40s came and you can see from my pictures how they shipped them. Now, my 5-50 set is officially incomplete! Thanks Walmart!!!
