I have been blessed with the opportunity to try Barilla Red Lentil Penne Pasta for free in exchange for my honest opinion. I have to say I just love Barilla red lentil penne pasta. The most important factor is it's made with one simple ingredient, red lentil flour, and it's healthy. It's gluten-free, non-GMO, and it's a great source of plant-based protein. It's delicious goodness. I made homemade soup with it and it cooked up just perfectly. It tastes so good. I recommend Barilla Red Lentil Penne pasta.
I love the Red Lentil Penne. It cooks up beautifully and tastes great! I made it with an Alfredo sauce, chicken, mushroom, onions, and peppers. I was happy with the results and will be buying this again in the future. It cooks up quickly and easily and it has a good, firm texture. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my review
First of all I was excited to find a Pasta that was gluten free.. even more excited when it is made of one simple ingredient Red Lentil Flour. The pasta cooked Al Dente without a mushy texture . It took about the same time to cook as traditional pastas. I am surprised that it even tastes like traditional pasta as well. My first dish I made was an Italian Inspired Casserole dish. It was delish and no complaint from my husband who can be a bit picky at times, In fact he loved it and asked for seconds. Barilla Red Lentil Penne is now on my shopping list and will be a staple in my pantry from now on. I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest opinion.
I received this product at a discounted price in return for an honest review. We never tried non-wheat pasta before, so we were a bit cautious about trying the Red Lentil Penne. Took the time to carefully cook according to directions, and then had the penne as a side dish to pork roast and pot roast. Used some olive oil with simmered garlic as a pasta dressing. We were surprised at the texture - firmer than al-dente, but not hard and dried out, just a bit more chewy. Taste was unexpectedly good. Not that lentils have much flavor to begin with, but the penne and sauce went together well and had a pleasant flavor. I always think twice about "health food" as I've been exposed to healthy foods that have had textures and flavors that I really disliked. The penne, however, was tasty and had great mouth feel.
Yummy and tasty pasta that made from lentils, it smells and taste exactly like usual one. I love the texture and the plant based option really makes the difference. Great source of proteins. Cooks like regular pasta but the flavor is really unique. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review.
I will confess that I love lentils and I try to prepare them often, but in my house almost nobody eats them but me, I really did not know that there was a pasta made of lentils so I was very surprised that existed, and now that I had the opportunity to try Barilla Red Lentil Penne I was fascinated. all my family are a huge pasta fan, so I was able to take advantage of this occasion so that they ate lentils without realizing that they were lentils haha! I prepared it as it says on the box and I made a spinach sauce, the pasta was Al dente.. super delicious !!, so everyone at home repeated the dish... they just really loved it. I like that it is a good source of protein and my family can finally eat. this pasta really tastes like lentils, the texture is very good, thank you Barilla you were my salvation at dinner. I highly recommend this product. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review.
I used Barilla Red Lentil Penne pasta in a family favorite recipe, stroganoff. Everyone enjoyed it. The children didn't notice a different. The adults noticed a difference in the texture but nothing that would prevent us from using again. I like that it has one ingredient and is gluten free. I like that it has a lot of protein and fiber.
Barilla Red Lentil Pasta is a nice choice for recipes like pasta salad. It has a wonderfully appetising color. There's no significant difference in flavor from regular pasta. It substitutes well into pasta recipes if you're looking for flavor and color. Texturally, it falls short of al dente when cooked to specifications. If you're big on texture, this may be an issue for you. I appreciate that Barilla Red Lentil Pasta has one ingredient: red lentil flour, is gluten free, comes in minimal, recyclable packaging, and is a good source of protein and fiber. I purchased Barilla Red Lentil Pasta at a discounted price in exchange for my review. All opinions are my own.
I have purchased the Red Lentil as this is the first time I am trying something different from the traditional one. The packaging said it should take ~7-10 mins to boil I boiled it for 10 mins but even after boiling for 10 mins it was hard to chew. So I again boiled it for another 7-10 mins for it to be tender. I will buy it again though I know I will have to boiled it for 20 mins because its very nutritious. It is high in protein and iron as it is made up of lentils. The taste is okay. My two and half year old ate as it so I cant complain taste wise. My wife loves it a lot though.
Well, this is barely edible. I cooked it the extra 2 minutes as the directions said for a softer pasta but it was still pretty darn tough and chewy. No flavor whatsoever. I covered it with a bolognese sauce and grated parmesan but it was still pretty lousy. I am appreciative of the extra grams of protein., though
