Worked like a charm. The little birdies have moved on!
I put these in my plum and apricot trees and my strawberry patch this year and could not believe the decrease in birds for awhile. Per the instructions you really do need to move them around occasionally when the birds get used to them but it did save a lot of my fruit. Very pleased.
Woodpeckers love log houses! When we saw the reflectors it made sense it could work. Put up the first batch of 5 and have had no Woodpeckers yet. Just received the second order of 5 because we have 2 log houses that join. We added 9 in. wire fishing leaders which provides more motion. They are a little pricey and the swivels do not work well, but can be replaced by double swivels, but the eye is a great idea.
I am happy to say I do not have a bird in my yard. I have a pool and they were making a mess. I bought 6 packages for friends , one had a woodpecker, gone! Gave a package to my neighbor his birds are gone. I will be purchasing more when these get damaged from our winters . I am grateful my problem is finally solved , owl did not work ,string did not work to keep them away from my pool. I no longer have birds relaxing in my pool area!
I Think these may work better than the decoys. I haven't got them all in place yet, but the few I have up seem to scare the pests. Hopefully, the birds won't get used to them.
I used these to supplement my Bird-B-Gone flash tape. They attack the wood beams under my deck so the flash tapes are hung off the deck -meaning the wind always blows the tapes up onto the deck. Got these to hopefully work when I am out of town and am not @ home to push the tapes back off my deck. However these rotate in the wind so that often only the gray backing is visible. Seems they would be more effective if there was at least some reflective material on the reverse side. Or maybe hang two of them back to back on the same clip so the reflective “eye” is always visible. I use a screw eye screwed into the wood beam, then a caribiner to attach the Diverters to the screw eye. It's the only way they survive the strong winds we often have.
We purchased the balls and reflecting tear drops. The birds avoided them for three days but then came back. We tied the balls closer to the mast by shortening the string and they avoided the mast for a few days more, then the balls came off in a rainstorm. Luckily it was found and we replaced the string with stronger fishing line. Eventually, we will have to put pokey things on top of the mast.
We used the Diverters in conjunction with a Hawk Decoy and the ribbons - it seems like we needed all three to effectively deter the robins pecking our windows
Unfortunately these reflectors did not work for us. I have three of them hanging by my pool yet the bird still poop on my solar cover and still take baths in my pool.
These did absolutely nothing to deter the birds in my tree, and they continue to crap all over my car. I'd give zero stars if it were an option.
