Black, Rust-Oleum Stops Rust 2 In 1 Rust Reform and Seal Spray-344713, 12 Oz

I bought cans and cans of this after I bought a 2000 Nissan Xterra that had been sitting in the woods in Washington state for 14 years and the undercoating was completely rust. now the underneath of the vehicle looks beautiful so I can't say enough good things about it

I was really tempted to keep it, but the person that I'm fixing some vintage wrought iron chairs for didn't think the rubbish look, I mean rubberish look, would give off the right vibe. I even looked on shopgoodwill.com to see if I could find some thing rusty that I could try the rubberized primer on. Like an interesting old garden hole or something, but I ended up returning it and getting the rustoleum that doesn't have the rubber. I was also really tempted to use it on my vintage dish rack that I just restored. it would be perfect for an application like that, but, alas, hurricanes are coming, and I have to do the plywood board up projects.

this stuff is great, I was restoring a trailer and after using a wire brush to clean the rust away this was an excellent coating to protect the bare metal. so far it's holding up well and preventing additional rust from occurring.

This is my own fault, but after shaking one of the cans, it slipped out of my hand and the nozzle broke. Couldn't replace it with the first bottle nozzle, which I could do with another brand.

I absolutely love this stuff. I stumbled a crossed it but once I discovered it I was hooked. This is perfect for all undercarriage and automotive frame projects. Just be sure to follow the directions.

I use Rusty Reformer pretty extensively when I am touching up old metal items. it works well to convert rust to a paintable surface.

Did exactly what I needed. Covered my lawn mower. Weather resistant. Took care of the rust. extended the life of several pieces of equipment.

Marketing suggest this is a 2-in-1 rust converter and paint/coating to cover rusted are and prevent damage. After reading the can, I suspect this is closer to a rust encapsulator that seals the rust to prevent further progression, but that suited my purposes. I used this in the trunk area of my 1999 Toyota Camry to treat rust, seal, and refinish the trunk drain channel, trunk side wells, and spare tire area, after they were showing rust due to a water-intrusion issue. Finish is very nice - it's and Eggshell/Satin finish that looks very OEM, with a small amount of texture that hides imperfections well. Coverage is just OK. This paint REALLY prefers several light coats instead of one thick one, and I did get a couple of runs attempting to achieve good coverage. Several areas looked well covered, but upon drying for a few minutes, it became apparent that touch up was needed. One can put two coats on the gutter rail, one coat on one of the side wells, and a relatively light coat in the spare tire area. Acceptable, but not great. Durability and adhesion are relatively poor. On the plus side, it stuck to the trunk wells relatively well after thoroughly cleaning them, though it showed minor scratches after sliding the spare tire around even after curing for several days. On the other hand, several small areas have flaked off of the gutter, despite nothing touching them, and scuffing the area before painting. And considering that this paint is not really soft or rubbery at all, I can't imagine it would last long as an undercoating/chassis paint, which seems to be the intended use. Overall, I'm happy with how the results turned out, and with the finish, but I have concerns a ut the long-term durability.

The sprayer tip gets stopped up, and there's no clearing or cleaning of it, so it's safer to use the whole can in one project if possible. This is great stuff and I've used it a lot, but it has happened to me few times.
