Good value

Bruce September 29, 2020

The BLACK DECKER 12-Cup* Programmable Coffeemaker, Black/Stainless Steel, CM4000S is a very capable appliance which brews between 1 and 12 cups of coffee with little fuss. Its features include the ability to apply a slower, "strong" setting and a 1-4 cup setting. The carafe is well designed and does not "dribble" while pouring. The lid easily detaches and re-attaches for cleaning, and the removable brew basket makes for additional convenience. Setting the clock could not be easier or more intuitive. I do not use the programming feature, but it seems straightforward enough. I could not find any serious drawbacks while using this coffeemaker, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Awesome coffee maker

Priscilla May 29, 2021

This is my second Black and Decker coffee maker. I used the first one until it gave out. I was thrilled to find another. The best feature of this coffee maker is its 1200 watt heater. Brews hot coffee! Most coffee makers hide their pitiful wattage ratings. Black and Decker puts wattage in the coffee makers specifications. I will definitely recommend this coffee maker.

Good Value

Erikson October 17, 2020

Good quality machine that gets the job done. My only gripe is the filter basket handle is flimsy, and it pops off rather often. I could see this leading to a messy coffee grounds spill one day.

Black %26 Decker are the best.

Doris March 27, 2023

I purchased approx. same Model in 2019 lasted until recently but took forever to drip. I like everything about it including dripless spout. Previous coffee pots did not last long, plus various problems.

Finally, a HOT cup of coffee

GLENN March 19, 2021

Nothing on this pot lights up except for the blue light on the middle button, only when it is on. The clock does not light up nor any of the program buttons. I sometimes have to use a flashlight to see it. The BEST thing about it is it makes REALLY hot coffee and keeps it hot. I'm glad I got it on sale and didn't pay full price.

Coffee, including immediately after brewing, is not very hot. Having the water-fill gauge on the inside of the maker is inconvenient.

Poor design

Bruce July 18, 2021

The product has a serious design problem. Between the filter basket and the outside there is about an inch which collects water and when the glass carafe is removed water drains down upon the burner.

I'm a disabled vet %26 an intense coffee addict lol. I have used Black %26 Decker for years. %26 they have generally come from Walmart. My last coffee was a B%26D CM 2020 B. I've had 3; they aren't made anymore. I looked @ the coffee making 1 morning %26 noticed that the Teflon warmer was worn %26 rusting. Clearly time for a new coffee maker lol. Found this maker, CM4000S, and thought it sort of looks the same, how different can makers be (OMG, SMH). With the CM2020B, fluid would dribble down the side of the pot. I fixed that by having to get 3 separate pots straight from Black %26 Decker before it was fixed. Jump ahead to this new one, CM 4000S. When it arrived, I cleaned it up, anticipating a fresh pot of coffee. When I filled it up with water, and noticed that it only filled to the 10-cup mark (there isn't a water level window). Started over again %26 made sure that the water was right on the 12-cup mark %26 filled again, same thing. I decided that I wasn't going through this "stuff" again with these ppl!! So I looked around %26 grabbed my old coffee pot %26 filled it to the 12-cup mark on the pot %26 filled the coffee maker. Bullseye, right on the 12-cup mark on the coffee maker. So the coffee maker ships with a coffee pot that is too small. Ppl shouldn't have to deal with this sort of aggravation when dealing with appliances! The clock is difficult to read because of an internal reflection. This absolutely will be the very last Black %26 Decker product that I buy!

Leaker

Shane March 5, 2021

Leaks, unlike countless others we have had this one LEAKS every time you pull the pot out. Yup, a little here and there might be expected but this one does it ever single time. 40 minutes after brewing, pull out the pot for a cup and moisture runs (not drips) out from above the pot...caught it with a white paper towel and found the liquid to be clear (not coffee colored - condensate I would guess). So it seems to have a possibility of two different types of LEAKS. Unfortunately we are lucky enough to test this issue at a minimum once a day and many days several LEAK tests are run. The reliability of it bringing a consistent leaker is solid (for us and this lovely unit we recently acquired). Hope others have better success because I have been practicing all the naughty words while running these tests.

black and decker coffee maker

debster52 May 18, 2016

the only way to see how many cups of water you are putting in is by lifting the lid and looking down inside. no measurement on the pot. the coffee has a plastic taste. i would not recommend it.
