I make up 4 servings at a time, which cook for about 15 mins and enjoy throughout the week. The oats seem to have more flavor that the quick cook variety and the texture is enhanced by the individual grains. It seems very hearty and stays with me longer also. Not to mention how much fiber the full oat provides. Highly recommend these - there is a reason they have won awards internationally.
In this fast paced world, heart healthy, stove-top steel cut oatmeal is worth the wait. Make it on your work from home days and weekends. The steel cut is a surprisingly interesting, unique texture. I mix it with water and typically don't add milk or sugar. It's good as is.
In our family we call them Irish Oats lol but whatever you call them, please call them delicious! I enjoy mine soaking overnight with a bit of my favorite fruit juice and spices for extra flavor and to help the cooking process along for morning breakfast! I do add additional fruit on top , I'm a blueberry person, my grandson prefers strawberries lol ! I make a big pot and put some portions away to reheat later in the microwave! It's a great way for portion control and fast breakfast on busy mornings! The texture is thick and hearty! Most satisfying and enjoyable!
I love Steel Cut Oats for the texture. I love eating oatmeal for good health, but I don't like the texture of regular oatmeal so steel cut oats are the perfect answer. It takes a little longer to cook but I put it on and let it simmer while I get ready for the day. Perfect timing! And it definitely gives me good health.
Bobs Red Mill is a staple to my diet it's pure and simply wholesome food that just feels right eating. no processing no chemicals just one simple ingredient oatmeal doesn't get any better than that they won the Golden spurtle and took it home from Scotland for the first time ever back to America that's the oatmeal Olympics need I say more.
Steel cut oats taste better and are better for you. Oatmeal is already very good for you and this takes it up a notch. These take about 20 minutes to cook, but it's worth it to try at least once in your life. If you don't like it, that's fine. Old fashioned oats are still good and good for you.
Bob's is employee owned, the very best value and the highest quality period. These are best soaked 8 hours, so they cook up easy. A microwave does not cook these well. The quality is consisently superb. You buy the weight listed, is a bit more expensive, but worth every penny. In this new world of ongoing shrinkflation, the folks at Bob's Red Mill produce the very best quality products as stated on their packages. Walmart has the best price so far. Thx Red Mill!
Excellent, even better than another brand that comes in a tin can I used years ago. Even better that it's shipped by Walmart! It's perfect for the slow cooker set it and forget it for breakfast! Please continue to sell by Walmart. Jesus loves you and your soul is priceless!
For those who prioritize nutritional density and sustained energy, these oats are a top-tier staple. Unlike highly processed "instant" varieties, steel cut oats provide a low-glycemic index breakfast that aligns with my long-term health and performance goals.
I actually really like this oatmeal, but for better results, you must soak the oats in hot water overnight and then continue to cook the next day. This will reduce the cooking time because they take a while to cook thoroughly
