Brink's Weather Resistant 40mm Laminated Steel Padlock

This is a good lock most of my locks rusted out but this one has protection from the rust and the rain. I am thinking of replacing all my outdoor locks with this type.

It has a nice weight to it and it feels secure. there's no wiggle room in the lock which is great. My only issue is the weird little key, but I don't even know if I like it or not yet. it's just different.

lock is designed for protection against bad weather usiny shank seals and keyhole cap. easily opens.

the inner shackle doesn't seem to catch it takes several times to get it to lock before it stays locked

great lock for the price. I use it to lock up my lawnmower and yard tools. Low crime neighborhood doesn't need to be the best lock.

As the photo shows, this is corroding in less than 6 weeks after purchase. It's being used to lock a shed in a relatively shady part of the backyard and it's only rained 2-3 times since first use.

the plastic piece to go over the key slot broke as soon as i took it off. made out of hard plastic and has no give on that piece. veey very disappointed. i paid more to get your brand and was not worth it! my nezt lock will be by a different company. shame on you., should know hard plastic has no give

The cutesy black case they have permanently attached to the lock is too thick. It makes the metal "U" too short to snap into the square base once it's placed on the item you want to keep secure. And the item I want to keep secure is thin so that isn't the issue. I thought about trying to cut the plastic off but decided to return it and buy a simpler lock instead.

Don't buy this lock if you're going to use it outdoors and you live in an area that gets rain. Moisture gets inside of it from the top and into the bottom enclosure even if the cap is on. I've got hard water build up already in the lock and I've only had it outside for 1 winter season.
