BRK Hard-Wired w/Battery Back-Up Ionization Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector

I purchased this item to replace a unit that had gone bad. The item was received as advertised and well-packaged. The item was advertised as the replacement unit for my original purchase and, as such, was compatible to my other units and easy to install. I did research this item and found Walmart had the best price...

After almost 10 yrs I finally had to replace the detector. the original lasted just over 9yrs. The multipack is the most cost effective way to go. I know in the next few months or so I will start hearing the alert to change the othrr detectors and I will be ready. It was very easy to install. This is the updated replacement for the model that was installed when our home was built-in integrated technology links all the detectors. I only had to change the mount plate %26 it was very easy by just loosening the screws twist off %26 replace %26 then I plugged the new detector in. it literally took me 5 mins.

This was a replacement for the previous smoke %26 carbon monoxide detector. BRK is another name for Kidde, a trustworthy brand. This model has both a 10 year battery backup and is hardwired for redundant power. Just set it up and leave it.

Perfect replacement for an 8-year old hardwired First alert CO smoke detector. The existing wiring and plug fit perfectly, however, I did have to change the mounting bracket to the new one. Also make sure no one is home or ask them to cover their ears when you installed it as it triggered the existing First Alert detector around the house for testing.

i disliked the fact that the box was opened on the bottom. someone was curious about what was in the box.

This is advertised as a replacement for the First Alert SC9120B combo smoke and CO2 detector. While it offers the same type coverage, it certainly wasn't a replacement. We had to remove the base from the ceiling (of course painted on) and make new holes for the new base. We have 9' ceilings so not an easy chore. Otherwise we've always loved First Alert and believe it to be a great product, but don't advertise something as a replacement unless it is truly a replacement.

Product came as described. Heavier than prior detector, so didn't seem cheaply made. Box it was packaged in was crushed upon receipt unfortunately. The product was shipped in a soft bubble package instead of a cardboard box, so that was disappointing. Hopefully no underlying damage during delivery.

Never had any issues with this product until today. The alarm is larger than the previously bought items, but it's easy to replace the mounting base that it's shipped with. However, the wired connection from the previous unit did not fit and what's even more strange the wire connector that it came with was the same size as the one already installed and obviously did not fit the connector on the device, which is noticeably smaller. Most likely I'll have to return the unit. Really surprised by this development.

I am a builder and definitely use this product .it satisfies code enforcement inspections and worth the money.good quality and definitely will buy again
