I love this brand. But every time I receive these they are dented and I'm afraid to use them. Could you possibly bubble wrap them before shipping please
This isn't the first time I've the baby clams. Linguini with clams is the dish I make with these and it's always great in taste and because there are no shells.
Bit of a sad story. My little dog was terminally ill, but his appetite was still good. On his last days, I spoiled him with the baby clams and oysters and salmon. He loved fish and shell fish and wolfed it all down, half paralyzed and all. So thank you for making his last days on earth awesome, all things considering.
I haven't actually made or eaten the Linguine and Clams yet' but I wanted to let know three of the four cans I purchased were severely banged up. I think they played baseball with them while they were waiting for the truck.. LOL If I see any juice before I open I will let you know. I hope they are good. I mix the baby clams with a can of the chopped. More fullfilling.
These are the clams I use when I make my Clam Chowder using the Cream of Celery Soup and they are really nice. If you live in an area where you can get fresh clams you would use them just as I would but I am not in that area so I use the canned and these I find are really nice in the chowder
New England born and bred….gotta make my chowda!!! Red or white chowder, these clams are good. Fresh ones are too expensive, hard to find at times, so these clams are just right! And use the juice too! Also great for making clam cakes. No need to cut them up, boom, ready! Fast delivery, nice price, and quality.
This really did not have the flavor as your chopped clams in cans, These really are not whole baby clams as far as I am concerned, more like shredded clams. I thought the price was really good but the quality is tasteless . Snows brand , even though it is more expensive, to me has more flavor and consistency.
I tried to rely on these to make Manhattan clam chowder, and they don't work as THE clam -- They're not packed in juice but in water and chemicals, and although plump, they really don't have the flavor. I will buy them to add to a clam chowder made with the real deal, the Snows chopped clams in clam juice, the big can? Those are sensational, and I'll throw in a can of these very well rinsed to bolster it, but I would never again rely on them on their own. In fact, I just made some sensational pasta sauce with the Snow's and realized, there's no point in buying these anymore. I never used canned clams to make clam chowder, always fresh, but the area I moved to is bereft when it comes to good food, and I'd have better luck sourcing unicorn noses than chowder clams.
The picture and can statement says, (Whole Baby Clams.). However, upon opening the canned clams...these baby clams were more shredded than whole! I even took pictures to show social media just how bad this product had been mistreated by the manufacturer.
problem is with shipping, 50% of cans dented or BADLY dented, shipping in paper envelope, crazy. Some cans so badly dented have problems opening, I solved problem purchasing from another firm, better price, far better shipping.
