We have been Calphalon cookware product users for years. In caring for your skillets, pots, etc., Allow your cookware to cool down to room temperature (set on a hot pad) immediately after use. Don't take the product from the stove-top and expose it to a sudden and dramatic temperature change (drop) by running it under water or submering it into dishwater. This traumatizes tthe base metal composition of the product to where the hard-anodized nonstick surface starts to chip off and/or chunks of the base metal break off.
i bought these pans over a month ago and have been quite pleased with their performance for even heating and non-stick properties. i was sick and tired of buying other pans that only lasted a short time before they lost their non-stick properties.so far, these have done very well and eggs still slide off and can be flipped without a spatula without ripping and tearing. we will see how they do over the next 6 months.
i bought these 2 pans over a month ago, and have been quite pleased with their even heating and non-stick nature. food slides right out of the pan, easy to flip eggs, etc. we only hand wash the pans, no d/w. i will be interesting to see how they do over the next 6-12 months of usage.
I had to order another one of these pans after getting the 12-inch version. After years of being disappointed with other nonstick pans that don't stay nonstick, it's such a relief to have finally found one that I won't have to throw away in a few months. There are plenty of beautiful ceramic pans that seem like they'd have great lasting nonstick, but in my experience, that always wears out in no time. The surface of these pans isn't slick - it's bumpy, and that's why it works and lasts so well. I also love the high sides on these pans, which makes them good for all sorts of things, not just frying.
Calphalon has proven to be a good mid-priced brand for cookware. Unlike the cheap stuff, these pans provide even heat and good non-stick surfaces, without being fragile. The handles are attached very firmly, they don't come off or get loose after being used a while. Unlike the expensive stuff, they are made for a cook who needs stuff that works, not so much for the cook that wants showpieces (though they do look plenty nice).
These pans are made well. If you take care of them, they will last a long time. The non stick does not come off.
I bought these two pans as replacements to a set that is about 4 years old. Love them for the non stick
Really was hoping for the set that nested. But not available unless you buy the million piece set. Still I am a returning customer got years of use from my others.
Great pan but I think the handle is too heavy when using on a glass-top stove as the pan doesn't sit flat when you are are preheating or cooking foods that are lighter in weight. I place an object under the pan handle to prop it up so that it sits completely flat on the stove surface
The 8 inch pan, quite frankly, has been a huge disappointment. Early on I noticed it wouldn't "sit" evenly on our range. Eventually I figured out the reason: the handle had been bolted on in a crooked fashion, with one side an eight of an inch lower (from the top edge of the pan) than the other side. I'm guessing this caused the balance issue. The 10 inch pan is fine and - no surprise - the handle was bolted on parallel to the top of the pan. Still love your brand, but this one was a dud.
