I am taking this supplement at the recommendation of my nutritionist who believes in the “purity” of the product. It's difficult to assess its effectiveness since it is part of an ongoing supplement program that my nutritionist and I have agreed upon. I trust her judgement.

Carlson Labs are known for their high quality products. Having been in the pharmaceutical industry for over 20 years, I will only purchase products I know to be reputable. I have seen several dosing recommendations regarding Vitamin D. The literature doesn't support taking over 2,000 iu/day, which what I'm currently taking. Carlson's is the only Vitamin D supplement that doesn't cause me to have a headache vs. what is available at the pharmacy or stores. I highly recommend any Carlson product, especially their Omega 3 supplement.

If you research types of Vitamin D you will see very quickly that this product is the best of the best. This vitamin D is made with cod liver oil. Even if you can't get in the sun, you can still get Solar. Favorite product, great price ,great company.

Vitamin D3 is now being recommended at much higher doses. Carlson D solar capsules have 4000 iu of D3 plus 500mg of Norweigian cod liver oil. A perfect combo all in one capsule. Easy to swallow. Have been taking this brand for several years and never had an after taste. It is my brand of clhoice.

I give these to my father-in-law. He gets a high potency of vitamin D, and some cod liver oil, in a smaller softgel. Most essential fatty acid softgels are large or huge, and he doesn't like big pills.
