Cascade Mountain Tech 300 Lumen Pop-Up Lantern & Flashlight, Batteries Included – Dark Grey, 7.8 oz

Everyone should have a few of these for emergencies. I live in an area where trees fall and knock out power often. This lantern takes a dark home into the light until the electricity is restored. Having a few of them around the house is a necessity. If you live where hurricanes and other weather conditions can take out the power having multiple sources of light should be considered, especially if you have children or pets. This lantern is light in weight and takes up very little room in a linen closet, under the kitchen sink, or placed in a drawer. Years ago I used to take my girls camping and the typical camping lanterns were too heavy for them to carry around. With this lantern, the night runs to the site restroom would have been easier in the dark. Keep one near your electric panel or in your mechanical utility room. I have one in my car now.

Me and my husband loves this lantern/ flashlight. The last big storm we had knocked down trees a ND power lines and my husband didn't have a flash light in his truck so I went to Walmart app to order one and while I was searching this lantern came in the mail. I wish it would have came a day earlier but all is good. The lantern lit up the whole Rd when he was testing it out. The flash light was strong enough to see a long way away. It's now in our truck for emergencies. We both love it and are getting another one for our car too and maybe one for our home even though we have a generator

So bright! The lantern is so bright you won't want to look at it directly, but it's great for lighting up a dark attic! I can use the lantern or the flashlight to find my stuff. The best part is that I can hang it on a nail in the rafters so my hands are free. I have changed the handle to attach to either the long or short side to suit my needs.

The battery cover is located on the end of the flashlight, you twist the cover to open to access the battery compartment. It takes three AA batteries, which are provided. When putting the cover back on you will insert it into the slots and turn until it snaps. There is a handle that can be used in two places. 1) at the end of the end that you will use when you are using it as a lantern 2) on the side that you will use when you are using it as a flashlight. The handle is rubber with two metal ends that when you press them together you can insert them into the two different brackets. When using it as a lantern it will automatically turn on when you pull it up (don't look directly at it or you will see spots). The light will also automatically turn off when you push the top back down. When using it as a flashlight you simply push the button – once to turn on and again to turn it off. It comes with a two page instruction and information manual. The information on the packaging says that the runtime (battery life) is 5 hours if you are using the lantern (300 lumens) and 15 hours is you are using the flashlight (100 lumens). It measures 6 inches long (lantern closed), 8 inches long (lantern open), and 3.5 inches wide. Again I will say don't look directly at the light – it is BRIGHT.

I have several of these pop up lanterns…they are a favorite for my hurricane preparedness kit. In the southeast, we are privy to frequent hurricanes that out our power for days, if not weeks, at the time. The Cascade Mountain Tech-pop up lantern and flashlight 4 requires only two AA batteries, which last for up to 5 hours when used as a lantern, and up to 15 hours when used as a flashlight. Requiring only 2 AA batteries, the lantern is made very cost efficient. Additionally, the light from the lantern is bright, yet pleasant, not harsh like some of the lanterns I've previously owned. The flashlight light is also pleasant, and is a great tool for seeing things at a further range. The body around the light is rubber, which is great in case it is dropped (which is easy to do when you're in the dark). It is also compact, which is a plus for me because I don't have a great deal of storage. Overall, I would highly recommend! If you're thinking about buying this one, just go for it!

This was great for camping , it's nice and bright and the batteries lasted a long time . We used it for camping had it on. The table at night and was great for bathroom trips in the dark . I highly recommend this light for at night use it works great!

I wanted a little lantern to have at home in case we had a power outage and this cascade lantern/flashlight, because it is a 2 in 1 exceeded my expectations! I didn't think it would light so good and clear! The LED is super bright the lantern is 300 lumens and you simply pop it up and it automatically turns on no button needed to turn it off you just press it down run time is five hours maybe a little less. The flashlight has a button right above the handle which you simply press to turn it on or off it's 100 lumens and the runtime is 15 hours. The lantern lights up around 30 ft and the flashlight you can probably get a little over 100 ft it's awesome! It needs three AA batteries which are included and to insert them you simply turn the top clockwise and it opens to close it just line up the slots on the cap and turn it clockwise. It also has a convertible handle where you can use it on the side to grab it for the flashlight and on the top to move it around for the lantern you just simply insert the handle connector with a pinch and do the same to move it on the side for the flashlight. This pop up lantern and flashlight is perfect to carry in your car to have at home take it to an evening event for extra lighting or to take it on your next camping trip!

What a dandy little lantern! Very lightweight, compact, and versatile. Pull apart to expose the bright lantern, press the on/off switch to use as a flashlight, or use with both lights on for maximum illumination. I have not used it enough to comment about battery life. I wish I'd had this when we were tent camping; what a difference it would have made!

This little light is very nice to have. Especially for hurricane season. Even came with batteries. I was a little skeptical of the handle at first. it appears flimsy, and it may be a tad on the flimsy side, but it's made to move so you can carry like a flashlight or a lantern, very unique. And, i like the way the lantern works; pull the handle to open/slide it open and it comes on. The flashlight part is push button. Pro's: Lightweight Comes with batteries. Very usable platform Bright enough to actually provide the lighting you need. Movable handle. Con's: Made of plastic Handle is a little flimsy.

This flashlight and lantern combo is a very bright 300 lumens. I think it works better as a flashlight than a lantern because the battery will last twice as long that way. When taking it apart for the lantern mode, it was very tight and difficult to open. The pop-up lantern would be best for camping and the lightweight of it makes it easy to pack along with your gear. I love the light gray color!
