Great Price and a Quality Light!

Lawrence March 6, 2026

The energizer TAC 300 is one of the best lights to carry as your first layer (in a pocket). This light has a clip for quick access. This is a great light for a kid, a lady, or big daddy. It's excellent for a backup light in the house, car, or office. Mine is used mostly for patient rounds and arriving home at night. I can see clearly for 30 (low beam) to 50 (high beam) yards. The beam is nearly as good as my Surefire lights. The Energizer TAC 300 requires one CR123A and is best for in-and-out situations. I like the simplicity and savings of needing only one lithium battery. I bought 8 of these and will give them as gifts to others who never get around to buying a good light. The 300 lumens is a blinding beam and never test it by looking directly into this light. The battery lasts a lot longer at 50 lumens of intermittent use, of course. I will write another review in 6 months after I put it to work more.

Highly recommend. Can take rechargeable batteries.

KENNETH March 22, 2026

Excellent small EDC utility/self-defense low-to-medium-high-intensity LED flashlight (with strobe) that is very economical because you can run it on rechargeable batteries. Single-use throw-away CR123A 3V LI-ion batteries cost typically about $1 each (and run down quickly from bright to dim) whereas popular brands such as Surefire and Watson offer rechargeables that are much more cost-effective (which can be recharged quickly). My personal preference is NITECORE who makes exceptional high-performance smart batteries which have AI-discharge regulation (so that the luminosity runs steady at a constant brightness before dropping off when it is time to recharge). They recharge very rapidly. So, you can buy two batteries and have the second one charged and ready to go when needed, and then recharge the first one in the mean time. These run in the range of $7 to $10 each (watch for sales and get on the mailing list) and last for an indicated 500 recharge cycles or more. So, $7 to $10 each for 500 cycles at steady constant brightness compared to CR123A-rundown for each $1 throw away single cycle battery.

Small, but Powerful!

DiabeticConsumer March 30, 2026

Very compact, but powerful. Size is probably due to small battery. I have yet to run battery down. Perfect for a "pocket" flashlight, or for emergency lighting.

Great little flashlight

Amanda January 27, 2023

Great flashlight that shines very bright. the only problem is it gets very hot so you can only use for a few minutes at a time.

entire flashlight heats up when left on=concerned!

LittleVista January 27, 2023

The light is bright, but this flashlight heats up in a matter of minutes when left on. I put the batter in correctly - I've never had a flashlight get hot like this, and having second thoughts about keeping it.
