there's not much to say here it's a pickle but it's one of the best pickles out there and you got to love a pickle it's like food and a drink to quote Ray Romano LOL
Claussen is our absolute favorite pickle, chips, sandwich stackers, spears, halves and whole. We love them all. From the moment you open the jar the fragrance is just wonderful, the garlic, the dill, the vinegar, the absolute mouth watering deliciousness you want to eat them all but you should definitely share as there is plenty to offer. We enjoy with cheese n' crackers and with our sandwiches, sometimes just a quick grab all by themselves to fulfill that Claussen craving. There is no right or wrong way to eat a Claussen just eat them!!
Great flavor and crunch! Its the favorite for snacks, potato salad, mac salad or with bbq meals. We always have some in the fridge. Highly recommend it!
These are the only Claussen pickles that still taste good and are mostly crisp. They do usually have a couple in each jar that is not crisp and rather soggy and gross but at least most taste good and are crispy rather than the others such as the spears that have horrible tough skin and a weird chemical taste to them. Something has definitely changed with Claussen pickles. They have gone down hill over the years and yet cost SO much .
I’ve always enjoyed this brand of pickles and don’t normally have a bad experience with them. I haven’t bought them for a while because the price has gone up quite a bit. Today, I opened my jar of pickle halves to find only six in the jar. I paid well over seven dollars for the jar… for six pickle halves?? That’s only three whole pickles. I might have to get used to eating less expensive pickles, these are good but not worth more than a dollar for half of a pickle. Totally bummed.
What exactly is it about cutting a pickle in half vs cutting it into sandwich slices or spears that justifies a 2 dollar increase in price from 2 months ago? These pickles taste decent but were already not worth buying as often as I would like but now I will never buy them again. This is ridiculous.
I have been buying Claussen for 30 years. The last two jars I’ve bought have had tough, chewy skins. I couldn’t bite through it and had to spit it out. They used to be the best but now the quality is terrible. They’re too expensive to keep buying them. I’ll be switching to a different brand.
This is the 2nd jar of Claussen pickles I have bought in the last month and a half. The first jar was awesome. They were pickle halves and they were very crunchy. But this jar and the next jar were terrible. Couldn't even eat them. I mean you couldn't bite through the rind. And yes I put them in the refrigerator as soon as I got home. I know they're unpasteurized and they have to be kept refrigerated.
These use to be a great product. This is no longer the case. Use to be a great crunch snack but now they are very tough to even bite through. They also no longer green, they now look yellow. Terrible.
Claussen used to be my favorite Dill brand. But I haven't bought them in years because they're expensive. Today I bought a jar, and sad to say the skins are tougher than shoe leather! You'd need to be a pit bull to chew through these skins. Not just one pickle, but every pickle in the jar. Did I just get a bad batch? I don't know but I won't be buying these again. I can't afford to waste $4.93 tax on a completely inedible product.
