Excellent Price! Larger package of straw than other brands, and alot better price! Purchased to mulch baby Strawberry plants. I ordered, and picked the 2 pack option. Was delivered the next day. The packs are double in size than the ezstraw, and the same quality product. Extremely Happy with purchase. Sreads, and handles easily..Perfect to strarting grass seeded areas, and was an excellent choice for mulching and protecting my baby Strawberry plants.
This is a rougher straw than say for guinea pigs, but it actually holds moisture in better than the finer cleaner straw for garden. Half the price is worth it.
Had to drive to the next nearest store to get it for $13, my store hiked it $7! Great value for the money, a HUGE package, "clean" straw which will work in my greenhouse.
My first time using this. The online searches all say straw is the best mulch for tomatoes. so thought I'd give it a try. It came very tightly packed in a mini-bale, just like the picture. It was light enough to easily carry out to the shed. I barely used a fourth of it to lightly mulch two 5x8 raised beds. So far my plants look healthy and the soil doesn't dry out too quickly between watering. It also looks nice and smells good; slightly sweet. I thought $30 was a lot for some straw, but I feel like I really got my money's worth.
Perfect straw for putting on top of grass seed. All the seed sprouted in 10 days this Spring. Also price is cheaper than Lowes or Homedepot
Well packaged and delivered on time. The package is easy to open and move around but part of it is wet. I'm glad it is not rotted but makes it difficult to spread. It's cheaper than the brand I usually buy and also cleaner but don't like the wetness. I think when you buy online an effort should be made to ship the best quality product....if I am buying it insotre I will not choose a wet bundle.... obviously.
So far, I have used this straw as mulch in a bulb bed. Since it has “ Tack” it did not blow away even in these worst winds the last few days. I will use the majority of it to cover grass seed in a few weeks. I think it will work great for that. I gave it four stars only because it's packed extremely tight (meaning that there is a huge amount of straw packed in) and just a little hard for me with arthritic cans to get out of the bag. Other than that, five stars. Great value.
I love how this keeps my soil from drying out and moist It also protected most my garden from extremely long periods of cold weather. Some pieces are a little bit too long but effective. I'd definitely purchase again because of it's properties and it smells so clean. A little bit covered a lot of ground and plants. Good for adding to your compost.
This may be more of an issue with how Walmart stored the item, not the item itself. 1/3 of the hay was wet and starting to rot/mostly unusable.
i order 10 bags, 5 bags were wet i couldn't use and since i opened the bags couldn't put em back to return them
