It lights gas.
I'm looking to replace the one we've used on the boat for 20 years, which has finally worn out. It doesn't produce a flame, just a spark. On the other hand, it has lit burners on the boat for 20 years, it's never run out of fuel.

Does what it's supposed to, every time
I wanted it to make a spark to light my old gas stove when the pilot light doesn't work. It does that every time. Yay!.

Not reliable from our experience.
Leave it out next to your camp stove and morning dew sets in…dead for at least a day. Reluctantly gone back to butane lighters.

NOT A LIGHTER!
They mis-labeled it as a lighter while it's just a spark-er! It does not light anything but gas and it's basically useless since today's gas-grills and gas-ovens all have their own sparkers. It may be useful for outdoor gas grills if you can light it in the wind.
