These are manufactured by the actual maker of most lanterns that are used by people in the outdoors who use gas lanterns, Coleman. They don't cost that much more, and last longer in my experience, so it's a good value. I use them myself on a lantern made by a different manufacturer and on Coleman lanterns while camping with scout units.
The standard. Tried and true. These Coleman mantles are the standard for any lantern that burn white gas.
excellent mantles, worked just right, will buy again when needed
I really like the clip style of mantles! Much easier than trying to tie a knot with my old fingers!
always nice to have extra, one is none and two is one as the old saying goes.
Installation was fairly simple and it was nice not to worry about getting a knot tight enough so the mantle doesn't fall off during transit.
The mantle looks good, and I purchased 4 of them (2 pair packages). The spring allows quick installation of the mantle so you don't need to fiddle with tying knots and then snipping off the extra length of string. However, in my case, the spring clip of one of the two mantles I did install does not completely encircle the mount, and as a result is partly off. Since these are spring steel I don't believe it could have been bent out of shape during installation given the ease of installation, so probably a defect in production. Still works however, but very likely to fall off entirely if the lantern is jostled or bumped. Will revert to string tied instead of spring loaded mantles going forward!
I really like the Lantern mantles that have the wire on them, but I ordered them and thought that they would come that way
too big bought wrong ones
I always like to buy original Coleman goods vs generic or off brand but I was very disappointed with the string tie #21 mantels I purchased for my lanterns. I purchased 12 - 4 packs and so far the first four mantels I installed all had holes in them after my first firing of each lantern. I was going to write Coleman to advise them of this situation and most likely still will but I thought it worthy to report on what I deem to be an unsatisfactory product ?? I have a lot of Coleman lanterns!!
