I bought this because my refrigerator is not connected to a water line to produce ice. This little icemaker does what I need it to do. It takes about 7 min to produce 9 cubes of ice. Then there is a pause as it reboots to produce more ice. In order to produce a huge bucket of ice to fill my freezer it does take a few hours. The "clean" feature is simply to let you know when to clean the ice maker from what I can tell from using it for about 1 week.
I'm very happy with my new Costway ice maker. My old icemaker quit working after many years of service, so I tried this one and I'm so pleased with it. I really like the smaller size and lighter. It makes very nice ice and is quiet and fast.
This is my third ice maker. 2 came from Amazon and failed a month or two after arriving. So far this has been the first ice maker for us. My daughter and dog love to eat ice.
We love our icemaker! The fact that it can make different sizes of ice has been amazing. Plus, installation was super easy and refilling. We love our icemaker! Sm of my neighbors have one… And my husband love theirs so much that I decided to purchase him one… It makes so much ice so fast…. I just nd to get use to the lil ice noise that it makes
I love this ice maker! It is so easy to use, very compact and makes a lot of ice quickly! It can be a little noisy and when it first makes and drops the ice cubes, the noise did startle us. But we have gotten used to the noise and absolutely love this machine. My house goes through ice quickly and this absolutely keeps up with us. I also love that if we don't get to the ice after awhile, it does take a bit before it starts to melt, the ice melts right down into the water reservoir that is conveniently right under the tray that holds the ice. Our refrigerator ice maker recently stopped working and this has been an incredible replacement. It makes ice much faster than our refrigerator did. I highly recommend this ice maker for the price and how well it works.
This item is a bit bigger and heavier than I expected but I found a spot to keep it on the countertop. It’s awesome! The first couple of cycles take a few extra minutes, but after that it cranks out perfect ice cubes pretty quickly. I usually empty the basket after a few rounds so the ice doesn’t start melting and freeze in clumps.
I'll begin by saying, I had another, cheaper brand which finally gave out. This one was more expensive but was on sale. It arrived 1.5 weeks later than expected. It makes smaller ice cones (even on the large setting). It makes more noise. If you don't empty the basket as soon as it is full, it is like the machine goes into limp mode. The temperature is not cold enough to keep the ice from melting. When I return from work, I have a melted clump instead of individual cubes. The only positive things I can say... it does make ice and it is better than nothing.
I've had many ice machines between home and office. I've had Frigidaire and igloo. I always buy self cleaning ice machines.given the safety concerns with ice which is why I switched from Frigidaire. This machine arrived and never made a single cube of ice and was promptly returned to the store. Apparently there was refrigerant in it? I don't know what the problem was, but I don't buy an ice machine to not have it make ice. Garbage.
I purchased this for my mothers bday we took it out the box plugged it in and it only made 1 cup of ice then it says "ice full" when its clearly not full im very disappointed with the purchase. Im trying to reach out to the company but they are just not replying to my emails!!
