As always, I write my reviews based on value for cost. for example, if a $10 camera takes decent pictures, it may get a five-star review. If a $300 camera takes decent pictures, it may get a 2-star review. This unit is absolutely amazing for $99. Simple setup, Wi-Fi connection, app from Google Play Store (or whatever Apple people use). as with most tech devices today, there aren't very many instructions included in the box. But there are a lot of videos available. I did have some questions and called tech support, and they were surprisingly prompt and quite available. the two photos attached to this review are with this camera in the exact same spot it turns 360° to take cover inside the house even though I have it on a windowsill facing the street. It picked up and alerted me to a truck passing by on the street which is 74 ft from the camera through three panes of glass. That may be something I need to make adjustments for lol. one of these at the front of your house and one at the back and you're completely covered no wiring needed ; just your Wi-Fi connection. I really like that it immediately alerts you (if you do choose) to motion detected like someone delivering a package or coming to the door. Don't even have to get off the couch now to ignore salesman. I will definitely be buying another one of these units to put at the back of my house to cover the back yard.

When I first received the D-Link 1080p HD 360 View Indoor WIFI Camera Person Detection Works with Google (DCS8526LH-WM) I read the information on the exterior of the box and the enclosed Quick Installation Guide. My first reaction was, “What have I gotten into?” My reaction was wrong. After finding the mydlink app and downloading the app, things got easy. Simply read and follow the instructions provided by the app. Creating the account, log in and add the device was very straight forward. Overall, it took about 10 minutes to go through the setup. The setup included inserting a microSD card and doing the needed formatting. I first got the camera working using the local microSD storage. Later I setup the free cloud storage account. One thing that gave me a positive feeling about D-Link regarding this product was the instructions went out of their way to make sure that I understood that help if needed it was there. D-Link is pro-active in encouraging contact with the slightest difficulty. This WIFI Camera the app and the Quick Installation Guide is so good that no help was needed. The quality of the imagery and sound provided by this WIFI Camera is outstanding. The quality of the night vision imagery is alright, but it is not the quality of the daylight imagery. A Camera mounting plate along with two screws is include with the Camera. I did not want to drill holes in the wall as a part of the installation. I chose to use heavy duty double sided mounting tape. It works fine and if the camera is relocated there are no holes in the wall to repair. The only negative encountered is that the camera must be located near a power socket to plug in the camera power adapter. This feature limits the location of the WIFI Camera. I found a location with a power outlet socket that provided acceptable camera coverage, but if the WIFI Camera used a Lithium Ion battery as a power source locating the camera would have been easier and provide better camera coverage.

I give this product a two, because it is a nice little camera that will probably do what it is supposed to do for somebody... it just didn't for me. First, I wanted an outdoor camera (see photo where I wanted to mount it). Nowhere on the box or in the "Quick Installation Guide" does it say that it is an indoor camera (which it is)... although it does say so on the description/title given when I went to start this review. Had I been able to use it outside it would have been perfect as it lists all the features I wanted (HD, 360° view, person detection, live views on phone or computer, video recording, two way audio, see up to 16 feet in the dark, etc.). Second, any locations where I wanted to mount the camera did not have a power outlet within reach of its 10 foot power cord. My wife doesn't want any extension cords laying around the house (or porch, should I decide to mount it outdoors anyway). I would have liked a longer power cord. Again, it'll work fine for someone who has a power outlet right near where they wish to mount it. Then I tried to set it up and capture images with it. I have an older Android based cell phone that I really didn't expect to be able to work with the D-Link 1080p 360, and it didn't. I couldn't even download the app. So then I tried my wife's cell, which is new and fancier. I was able to download the app, but it still didn't work. I was about 30 feet from our router (in our living room), which was evidently too far away, so I moved to the kitchen (10 feet away). This allowed the app and camera to communicate, and the camera started up (flashed lights, spun around, etc.). But, I still couldn't get the app to DO anything. Tried and tried. Nothing. So much for the advertised "10 minutes to set up!" Finally, I called the help line / technical support. I got a cheery voice asking me to hold (I think it was a recording) and then after about two minutes of waiting, the same cheery voice came back on and said "All lines are busy now. Please try again later. Good bye!" Really. No kidding. They hung up on me! So I gave up. It can't be used outside. It won't work with my phone. I couldn't get it set up, even on my wife's new phone. It took me several hours to do what I did, and I hadn't even gotten to how to mount it and get power to it from there! And, the straw that broke the camel's back, they weren't there to help. I'm sure it works, but not for me...

Eazy to Set up. Great Picture Quality. Sound Quality is also really good. Functions are easy to control with the phone Application. Comes with mounting plate to attach to ceiling.

This camera is well made and can do a range of security features either through direct control via the Dlink app or through Amazon Alexa or Google Home smart devices. This camera can be wired directly or used with the wifi. The camera can tilt and pan 360deg and can record up to 1080p/60. It also has a microphone and a microsd card slot on the back side of the camera. This thing also can automatically detect people, movement or sound while your away and can notify you via the app that someone has been detected in the home incase your away. Only downside ive seen in my limited use of this camera is that its only indoors & not outdoor rated and the Dlink app to run this camera is somewhat confusing even to a tech savvy person as my self. I did get most of it up and running but for a older person like my parents I think they would probably have a hard time getting it set up. Very cool and so far it seems to work as advertised. It also comes with a ceiling mount and the needed hardware to install it.

I just got this camera today and it is already set up and working as it should. The Iphone set up works when you download the app and goes quite well. You need to login to myDlink to set up the account for your pc. At first I had trouble getting it to record to the cloud. After I rebooted the camera all of the features started to work. I have it set to recognize people and record to the cloud. It also records sound if you turn on that feature but that may be a legal problem in some areas and I am not qualified to determine that. The camera works with my Iphone and my pc. You can pan, tilt and zoom from your Iphone or pc. You can initiate recordings from both as well. At first I struggled with getting the cloud recording to work and if you do then just do the setup and reboot the camera. I think a reboot is required with any change you make to the configuration.

THIS LITTLE CAMERA HAD ME CONFUSED AND DOUBTING IT DID WHAT IT SAYS, BUT AFTER READING UP ON IT, I AM RUNNING IT OFF MY WIFI I USE IT ON PORCH AT NIGHT TO KEEP EYEY ON CARS AND FRONT DOOR, DURING THE DAY ITS INSIDE I CAN WATCH MY 2 MINI SCHNAUZERS WHEN I AM AWAY, I LOVE IT!!

Camera was pretty easy to set up for me,just followed the onscreen directions and only took a few minutes.Camera has an indicator light which changes color as it goes through start up,when green it is up and working.Video quality is nice,though when panning it takes a second for video to stabilize,could be my phone as it not a high end android,a Motorola G6.After first set up we took a ride to town and checked out how app worked,everything went as it should,even having left tv on was neat as could have watched tv from car.Notifications worked fine as it sent them every time I walked into room,and pan and tilt worked easy from app and does give a wide panoramic type view.Did set up in window for outside view,was a cloudy day and actually wouldnt put in a sunny window as dont think good for camera,view out window was good and is handy if you wish to keep eye on back yard,dog etc.Overall so far a great camera and tool to have for added peace of mind.

I never really thought much about using a cam or home monitoring system. But this Wi-Fi camera changed my mind. It has all of the capabilities you need, next to actually being at home. It's like having an extra set of eyes and ears with recording capabilities at your home when you need it. Initially, while opening the box, I became apprehensive about having to go through all of the instructions to get it up and running. However, I found the “Quick Installation Guide,” inside, and it was a breeze. It connected to our home Wi-Fi very easily. The app that you download to your phone, offers additional instructions as you interact with it. While in settings, If you don't know what a setting does when you click on it, a small piece of information pops up to explain it. Then, if you prefer not to utilize that particular feature, you just slide it back. You can't mess up. I don't know where to start with actually reviewing this D-Link Wi-Fi Camera. I became enthralled with it's many features and soon found myself playing around with it like a remote control toy, and soon forgot about the actual instructions. I positioned it to where it could capture the most area of our home. It has a turning radius or “Pan Range,” of 340 degrees. While setting it up, The feature that I was most interested in, was it's ability to pick up motion, and follow the source of motion. I used our dog as my subject. I found the specific instructions on how to set this feature up. It is amazing how it tracked my dog through the house. You initially take a panoramic picture of the area of your home that you will be monitoring. This serves as a type of map, so that you can move the camera around by touching places on the picture that you want to view. You have a choice of moving the camera by tapping the screen or sliding your fingers. The camera's movement is awesome. To put things simple, the camera goes up and down and all around. The specifications are on the box. There are a lot of features to this camera. Too many for me to review. But consider; High definition monitoring of your home, Person detection, Auto Motion Detection, as well as Sound and Motion detection, Video recording, Getting Alerts on your phone and Two way audio. You can actually speak through the camera and hear what is being said back. You can manipulate the camera and it's settings, while away from home. There are a few things to be aware of, while operating the camera. There is about a 1 second delay of the camera, after you tap the screen, and after actual motion is detected. I love this Camera and I honestly feel a lot safer with it in my home I would highly recommend this to anyone for home security, or for the purpose of keeping an eye on pets while your away, and many other reasons.

The D-Link 1080p HD 360 View Indoor WiFi Camera is a great camera with just about every feature you would want, controlled by an intuitive app that is a breeze to set up. I already had one other D-Link model camera so I already had the MyDLink app installed, but it instantly recognized my new device and connected it to my wifi network automatically! And honestly, that was it for installation! Then you need to go to the settings, name your device, and just choose how you want it set up. Some of the features include sound, where you can not only record sound (which can be saved in the cloud or on a disk) but you can also talk through your phone to the camera from anywhere. Great feature for dogs or if you use this in a baby's room. I also mounted mine on the ceiling so I had to invert the image which was one of the settings. Super easy. The camera pans basically a full 360 degrees which is awesome because I put it in the center of my hallway and can catch video from both directions. It has night vision which works amazingly. It also has motion detection, which is great for seldom tracked through areas but way too much notification if used in a busy area of your house so I disabled that. The only feature that's a little tricky is the manual panning of the camera. There's a little rectangle within another rectangle and you have to drag your finger to reposition it and it's very touchy so it usually takes a few tries to get it dialed just right. This feature could be better but overall this camera is awesome and I love and recommend it!
